Once the kickstand is in this cover, the fit and stability is awesome. It does make your surface much thicker, but it's worth the protection and functionality of this product. Writing is great and it stays upright for all laptop use. The design does make it a little long in the back when using it like a laptop though.No complaints almost a year in, it has lasted numerous travel trips and daily coffee shop visits in my backpack.

What I like:Great fit and looks nice. Fabric quality and thickness seem appropriate for protecting and keeping it light.What I don't like:Using it with the keyboard (type cover) is okay. I am buying a case to protect my surface and keyboard. I don't like having the keyboard on the table despite that being an intended use. Note: I don't see a case that is designed to protect both in all configurations.The "fix":I don't use the bottom elastic straps. The case folds nicely to protect the keyboard without any strain on the hinge. The only downside to this is the surface slips out of the case easily when I swing the keyboard to close. It's also a little more difficult to move the stand out. Overall I am happy to make this tradeoff to protect the keyboard and surface completely.Good case at a good price. I'll risk the slipping to have keyboard protection.

The case fits the Surface Pro 8 perfectly. It is durable and looks pretty stylish.

I purchased another cover for my Surface Pro 8 but it was a slippery plastic and would slide off of smooth surfaces. This is a much better solution. It feels like canvas. The rough texture makes it steady. It has elastic strips to keep it from sliding out of the case as the other cover I had did on several occasions. I has an elastic pen holder on one side which is very useful since I do not use a keyboard so no other penholder.

I bought this cover because it looks good and has a pocket for small items as well as a stylus holder. Well, the stylus holder will keep the pen in place... as long as nothing touches it. I bumped the case with my arm and the pen fell rendering it useless. I used to have the Kensington cover, but the case broke after 5 years of use. I dropped my car many times, and nothing ever happened to my Surface. One fall out of my bag last week, and my screen did not survive. I thought the tablet would be fine since the case was closed, but since it fell corner first, the screen cracked. Costly mistake buying this case.

I've had this for a couple of months now, and I'm not super happy with it. It looks nice enough, but its functionality could be better. I've only dropped it once, and the corner broke off; my laptop won't stay in the case. Before that, the elastic used to hold the computer didn't work very well. My laptop would come out of the case when using the kickstand, or it would fall out. I'm going to have to get a different one. Yesterday my laptop fell out while I was walking and hit the floor pretty hard. Thankfully it isn't too damaged, and it sucks because it's an expensive laptop.
