Barbapapa (Primary Picture Books German) (German Edition) Hardcover – August 1, 2009

I bought this for a Christmas present and didn't double check that it was written in English. Initially I was disappointed that it is in German, but what a great opportunity! I'm using Google Translate and translating the book and my kids can get introduced to a bit of the German language and seeing how languages don't always translate smoothly. Darling book, great condition.

The book itself is as wonderful and charming as I remember. I loved this book as a very small child and know the story well. Unfortunately the copy I received is in German. Thankfully I know the story well enough that I can read it to my baby girl but it would be nice if she could eventually read it herself. I give the book itself five stars but have to take one away just for the fact that it it described as being in English when it it not

Barbapapa (meaning Cotton Candy in French) is both the title character, and name of the "species" of said character, of a series of children's books written in the 1970s by Annette Tison and Talus Taylor, who resided in Paris, France. You can still purchase the books and DVD's in Europe (or through Amazon.fr). The story is always educational and there is always a message: to protect the earth, the animals, nature. One of the most positive books for children ever created! Barbapapa was and still is a huge hit in France, Belgium and Japan. Unfortunately, Barbapapa was never really distributed in the USA. If you want to bring up your children with a positive and peaceful message, you should give Barbapapa a try! One of the most undiscovered gems in children's literature. Barbapapa is the best!

help please, the book sent to me was in french...i presumed when i ordered it that it will be in english. can i stil return?

Should of read the reviews. Didn't realize it was in German. I had actually searched Barbapapa in English. Oh well.

Cuidado esta en alemán aunque el cuento de entiende perfectamente sin conocer el idioma. La historia preciosa como todos los cuentos de esta colección

Um wieviel besser der Original Barapapa ist, als der Neue! Gemütvoll und kindgerecht in Geschichte und Tempo,feine Zeichnungen von Hand. Übrigens sind auch die Original-Filme den Neuen bei Weitem vorzuziehen.
