Jamaican Blue Like the Old Days!
The original JBM was wild and collected by boat. There were only a few hundred pounds sold world wide and it cost a fortune. If you get JBM, it's not the original. However, I heard about some clever fellow, who cultivated those wild seeds in Jamaica so it grows in the same conditions. They used to sell this cultivated JBM in the 80's, back in the "pure" days of coffee. I bought it then and thought it was the best coffee I'd ever tasted. So I ordered a couple of pounds of this, and sure enough, it's exactly the same old delicious JBM I used to get in the 80's. You also don't need many beans. We use less than a small scoop per cup. It's still very strong, flavorful, yet seems to be smooth and succulent. It's VERY expensive, just like a world class fine wine. BTW, the cute burlap bag opens to a vacuum sealed, zip lock reusable bag, that has a one-way air valve; it only lets the air out. If you agree with my review you won't be disappointed.

Loved it so much I always looked for it at ...
I served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 33 years, I retired as a Chief Petty Officer. One day along time ago I was hand picked to go round about through Jamaica. A buddy and I was with me on this mission. He suggested to purchase a few pounds, which I did. Loved it so much I always looked for it at coffee houses around the U.S. Well, Starbucks has a pre-Christmas sale in October/November. I got the last 3 pounds of at a local Starbucks of Blue Mountain! I asked my son if he knew any place that sold Blue Mountain, he said Amazon should sell it, they did. The rest is history! As soon as I get low on my stash I will buy from Amazon or some other coffee bean wholesaler! I drink it plain as an excellent coffee should be drunk. I can taste the bean. It is not harsh coffee, but not too light either. I wish others would enjoy Jamaican Blue Mountain as I do. Thanks Amazon for the Jamaican Blue Mountain supply!!!

The coffee was the best
The coffee was the best since I have tasted. But It sames to be old since loasting. Consequently, the taste is not fresh. I want to be fresh. Can you know me about it?

My impression
I really had to check off Blue Mountain coffee from my bucket list. Overall, the beans make a very, very good cup of coffee. Obviously, a luxury item. The taste comes across as rounded, dark chocolate, cacao.. Just a bit of highlight. I brew it with a vacuum coffee brewer and I let it seep a long time. With a lengthy seep, well, stronger favor, yet no unpleasant bitterness. The beans just plain give you a strong, crisp, out of the ordinary, yummy, cup of joe.

Doesn't taste good
I am a coffee afficionado, love Jamaican, Hawaiian, Boquette. I've enjoyed a dozen pounds or more of Jamaican Blue. This one was the absolute worst of the bunch. I wasn't even sure it was authentic Jamaican beans, based on the taste. Way too acidic. Maybe they over-roasted it, or left it on the dock too long. Didn't even finish grinding the $70 pound of beans, it just went to waste. I don't recommend it. Not worth that kind of investment, for something that tastes worse than a blend, which is preferred to this.

Great Coffee but nothing to write home about.
Medium bodied taste with a good caffeine kick. I drink my coffee black and was not overly impressed.Maybe it’s the fact I have been to Jamaica a few times and have had many different brands and blends from there including their peaberry, this was simply ok. I ordered whole bean and have made this coffee numerous times. I will try the French press next and if it’s amazing I will update my review. I will probably stick to my Starbucks whole bean. They seem to make a consistent product with amazing flavor profiles. Looking for recommendations and I think coffee should be something to experience as well as enjoyed. It came in a burlap sack, was sealed for the most part (the ziplock wasn’t closed but the plastic was bag was.) I had to cut the plastic bag it came in to open it.Gift-able but unless your familiar with Blue Mountain coffee this is a hard pass. I’ve had better coffee from speedway. (They grind whole beans now and it’s actually pretty good.) I’m almost afraid to buy blue mountain coffee again. I could taste the difference better in a blend than in this shipment from Coffee Roasters.I just bought a bunch of k cups a few months back from Cameron’s, the Jamaican blend and they tasted better than this. Just disappointed is all.I may wait till I go back to Jamaica to drink Blue Mountain coffee again. Thanks for making this product available. Sincerely, Andrew Wilson.

Brings back memories of my honeymoon in Jamaica.
Honeymooned in Jamaica, the resort we stayed at served only Jamaica Blue Mountain. Hadn't had it before, but once we got home we quickly realized the stuff must be laced with heroin or cocaine or something cause we needed more. Every time I open this bag to scoop some beans I spend a moment just smelling them. It makes me feel like a druggy, but it is what it is. Makes an excellent cup of coffee. Due to the price we only buy bags for special occasions, but in our case that just makes it even better when we do get to spend a week or so going through one. This stuff tastes just how I remember it tasting in Jamaica. Having that moment of nostalgia for breakfast is worth the high price to us.

Just average
Good quality beans are not the only thing that determines good coffee. It also takes the skill of a roaster to bring out the complex flavors of coffee. Unfortunately this brand is just average in my opinion. It could be that I received a bag that's been in inventory for a while, but this JBM just didnt taste right, and the aroma of excellent coffee is just lacking.I don't know if it was just my order, but the coffee just smelled and tasted stale. Such a shame as JBM is already scarce as it is. I recently ordered JBM through a smaller company that roasts fresh to order and I can already tell just from the smell, that its worlds apart. I've learnt my lesson and would advise other customers to steer clear of ordering coffee through a large distributor. Its worth the extra $ to have the coffee roasted fresh, especially something as sought after as JBM.
