Three Bears in a Boat Hardcover – Picture Book, May 20, 2014

This book is sweet and has beautiful pictures to go with a beautiful story.

Wonderful book

We have a 3.5 year old and 1 year old, and are collectors of children's books. We just love this book. It is far above and beyond the Ladybug Girl books (which my son likes as well, but just don't come close to this one). The illustrations are beautiful. Indeed, the bears are a little reminiscent of Maurice Sendak's Little Bear. The full-spread of the whale and the illustrations of the various islands are just gorgeous and really transport you into the story. The pictures really evoke life by the sea. There is so much wonderful detail -- the rich blue color of the sea shell, the mother bear's empire-waist dress. The first time I read this, I wasn't sure there was much to the story, but as my preschooler asked to read the book again and again, I really fell in love with it. The language is just lovely and uses challenging vocabulary but is easily understood by a preschooler. I love that this has a real plot -- and my kiddo does too. My son loves to act out the story. I really appreciate that this book teaches a lesson (about telling the truth and consequences) but doesn't hit kids over the head with a lesson to be learned. This is a new classic. My preschooler asks for it again and again, and I never mind reading it to him.

This book is amazing! The illustrations are gorgeous and the pages are thick and wonderful. I have built quite an extensive library for my 3 yr old son and have bought more than a few books that I dread reading to him ( I call them duds)For me a book has to have a smooth pleasant flow to the writing otherwise I absolutely hate reading it.This book has that wonderful flow to it that makes it a delight to read along with the beautiful illustrations ( I know I already said that ) I would deffinantly recommend this book to anyone! I've read a lot of glowing reviews for books and bought them, only to be super disappointed. So hopefully my review leads you to owning a great book!

This story had a plot that keeps your interest.It had adventure.The best part was that the three sibling bears experienced what all brothers and sisters go through in learning how to get along in life. It was a "bear-y" lovely story. The loving Mamma at the end emphasized the message of the importance of give and take in relationships !

We gave this sweet book to our son for his 4th bday! It’s so beautiful and he loves every page! The illustration is amazing! I think this will be one of his forever books!

Buy it. You won't be disappointed. My 5 yo and 2 yo both love this book, and I love that it has a fantastic message about being honest and taking responsibility for your actions without being preachy so my kids don't even realize they're getting a lesson. Checked this out from the library last September and finally had to buy it for Christmas. We've read it almost everyday for the last several months and we still love it.

I love everything about this book! The artwork is absolutely beautiful and I just love looking at the pictures. I have a daughter and two sons, just like in this book. Sometimes I substitute their names in the book for fun and they love it. This book literally brought be to tears and I could read this book to my kids every night and never get tired of it! A wonderful book about love and forgiveness. Highly recommended!

A delightful story about three bears with different personalities. They get into trouble, ask for help, and make their way home again. Grandson loves it and I enjoy reading it.
