I really didn't expect much for the price with this razor, but was I wrong! I've been wet shaving for a long time and have tried everything from vintage Gillettes (which I personally prefer) to the modern brands, and I would say this shaves very similar to the Gillette Flair Tip or Red tip. This Bali does have an advantage in that it encloses the blade ends which is more comfortable under the nose area. It is medium aggressive, more so than a Merkur 34c, but not as much as a Old style Gillette open comb.

Attractive razor, great value, good, close, shave!My previous razor resulted in cuts almost every time. This one has yet to cut me, after 3-4 uses. Plus the shave is closer.I just bought two more just to have on hand in the coming years.

I can't say this is better or worse than other razors on the market, but I absolutely love this one! I've never had a safety razor and so spent a lot of time reading reviews and researching before I decided on this one. The deciding factor for me was price. Seemed that the reviews were good and the cost was low enough to take a chance on something I've never even used before. I'm very pleased with this razor. Don't even know where to start. I guess first of all, it is built like a battleship. Solid and free of any defects that I can see. It doesn't seem flimsy in any way. You twist it open and put a blade in it, twist it closed and it is a work of art. The blade stays put and doesn't move around at all. There's more chrome on this thing than a '57 Chevy! The top blade covers are smooth as silk. Makes me want to go shave just talking about it. I won't waste your time telling you how to use this razor, it's pretty easy to figure it out on your own, but it is a different kind of experience. My advise would be to take it slow and let the razor do the work. In other words, don't use much force on it. Just let it glide and do it's thing. I haven't had any issues with it yet, but I know this thing can, and will, HURT you if not used properly. Get top quality blades. There is a blade that comes with it, but I found others that seem to work a lot better. They are inexpensive and reusable as well. What ever works best for you. I also recommend you keep the case it comes in. It is an excellent place to store the razor whether you are traveling or just putting it away after use. Funny thing about the case is that it comes with a "HD" mirror! I read that in the manual or somewhere, and got a chuckle out of that. HD mirror, lol. All this time I've only been using standard def, who knew?

I like that it's very compact and the blade stays tight and firm avoiding razor cuts on my face. Very happy with it.
