Great product, install was much easier than I thought.
After reading all the reviews and watching tutorials online showing how to install this thing, I almost didn’t buy it because it looked so intimidating, and my hand strength isn’t what it used to be.Well, I sprayed a little Windex on it, rubbed it around with a forefinger, got it started, seated, and centered nicely in about, oh, a minute. No cutting out shims from the package to help installation, no using a rag to help me manhandle it onto the grip, no boiling water to soften the rubber.Seriously, I watched videos of younger, bigger stronger guys really struggling to install this and using all those methods. Ha. Guess I’m a bad ass, lol.By the way, this product is really nicely made, really fits well and enhances the grip and feel. Looks absolutely factory too. Nice!

Great! Fit for Glock 42
It's a great fit for my Glock 42. It went on real easily. I did not follow any of the instructions. I didn't use any lube. I didn't cut out the little shoehorn things they recommended. I just stretched it and pushed it on. It was no problem. Took about 2 minutes. It adds just enough Girth to make the handle Feel really nice. It's firm. It has just enough give so that you can get a solid grip on it. the finger groove is a nice touch.

Makes a difference on gripping the gun!
I got this because. My palms tend to sweat when I go to the range and I have a problem with the 43 slipping and really wanted a grip. I choose this for the price and reviews. So it really is no joke that this grip is a pain to put on. I put it in boiling water for a couple of minutes and then used window cleaner like the directions suggested and a butter knife to help give me leverage to ease it on. After working with it and pushing one side a little at a time I got it on after 10 minutes. I do love the feel and how better it fits in my hand. I will have to update when I get a chance to take it to the range. I like the finger grove area. My personal favorite is a gun that has the finger grooves and not just a straight front end on the grip. This grip definitely gives me that. Great price and quality, would definitely buy again!

Five stars! Takes some work to install.
Hogue 18200 Hand All Beavertail Grip sleeve, Glock 42 & 43, black - I pulled the sleeve out of the packaging and there was no way it was going to slide over my Glock 43 hand grip without some major effort. The rubber is too thick and rigid to allow even a person with exceptional finger strength to slide it on. The packaging and instructions got thrown out, so I read the Amazon reviews to see if others were having problems "sliding on" their sleeve. Based on the reviews I read, most people found it difficult, but some people said after dropping the sleeve into hot water for a few minutes, then applying a few drops of dish soap or window cleaner, it slid on easily and the effort was "worth it". If you have the finger-strength of a gorilla or use a pair of vice-grips, it still isn't going to slide on easily. I tried using hot water and window cleaner and 15 minutes later, I was ready to return it - until I read the reviews that stated they tried to return it, but their returns were refused. Don't get me wrong - I consider Hogue sleeves to be the best on the market and a must-have - I have one on each of my handguns and I love them. Maybe the sleeve I received was flawed in some way and happened to be smaller - but that's an easy-out. I wanted a way to slide it on that didn't involve water or a slippery substance. I looked around the house and found a long-handled tea spoon. and used it like a shoe-horn (see photo) - less than 5 minutes of wrestling it over the hand-grip and the sleeve was firmly in place.... and it's not going anywhere. My advice: take the reviews with a grain of salt - these are quality sleeves - just be aware that sliding it on will be a challenge. After you've tried everything else, just use a long-handled tea-spoon as a shoe-horn - works like a champ. FIVE STARS

Great grip
I ordered two of these for mine and my wife’s Glock 43. I gave a four star for mine only because they sent me a grip for a model 43X and I had to trim the button with razor blade but it still works well. For my wife’s model 43 I give it a five star it fit perfect.

Great item/Hard to install
I bought two of these; one for my Glock 43 and one for my S&W Shield 40. The same size fits both. I like how this enhances the grip on both guns. It added little bulk to the grip while providing a tacky, easy to retain grip to both of the weapons. My only complaint (and reason for not giving five stars) is this item is a real booger to install. With the help of a You Tube video, a lot of time with my wife's hair dyer, some soap, and a lot of swearing, I got these installed. It is doable, just not easy. But with the tight fit, neither one is going to slip or move. So I am saying, the results are well worth the time and aggravation. I would recommend this item.

I like it once its on!
This is the second of these I have purchased. It can be a bear to get on, but once you get the trick its not hard at all. worked out the trick with the first and this took less than five minutes on this one. First one I tried getting it on dry, no, won't work! The instructions say to use windex as a lubricant to ease it on. Now I am not putting a water based fluid on my pistol under a rubber seal! First put an empty mag. into empty gun. Spray a small amount of gun oil inside. start the front on over the point of the mag. then work the back on. once this is done slide it on. Takes some effort, but it will go on perfectly and fits tight!
