Smooth writing ink with vibrant colors
Monteverde California Teal is everything I enjoy about fountain pen inks. Its good flow combined with its ability to produce vibrant color variations makes for an expressive writing experience. The only problem came from the bottle itself. When the ink dries on the treading the cap becomes very difficult to remove. So you might want to wipe down the threads after inking and before closing. In the box:1 -boxed fountain pen ink bottle 3oz (90ml)Introduction:Monteverde California Teal is a dark greenish teal ink for use in fountain pens. The ink is made by Monteverde Ink in E.U. and packaged in USA as stated on the package. Monteverde California Teal ink features ink treatment formula (ITF) which is said to help with ink flow and pen lubrication.Ink Properties: Features Monteverde ITF Technology which Monteverde says:-improves ink flow-lubricates and protects ink feeding system from clogging and corrosion-extends cap off time before ink starts to dry-improved dry time when applied to paperColor:California Teal is a medium saturated ink that can vary from a dark green coloring to light teal when diluted. The ink also dries as a bright reddish sheen in spots where it has pooled and concentrated.Pelikan 4001 Dark Green Ink is very similar to Monteverde California Teal in color but California Teal has more sheen and a hint more teal undertones. Looking at the color swatches (see photo) California Teal clearly favors the green side of the spectrum.Performance:Monteverde California Teal is a pleasure to use. It has a wonderful ease of flow while still behaving on the paper. It reminds me of Pilot’s Iroshizuku Kon-Peki ink in terms of how it performs. The medium color saturation is rich and vibrant without being too dark. It produces beautiful shading when used with the correct combination of nib and paper quality. If you look closely at the writing sample (see photos) hints of sheen are visible.I found the dry time to be good to average. The increased ink flow will naturally increase dry times in any pen but using a fine nib with average flow I had no issues. Once dry the ink will run if exposed to water. If you’re using it for important notes you make want to consider a more water resistant ink.For sketching the ink provides a smooth and continuous flow. The strokes are quick and immediate. Applying water with a brush allows the color run and blend.Cleaning:I found California Teal to be an easy ink to clean. Flushing out of my Wing Sung 601(pen) with water removed most of the ink. The pen being transparent I could see that some ink remained in between threading and in the tight gaps along the nib. I took the nib unit apart and after a quick rinse with water all ink was removed. Conclusion:Monteverde California Teal really surprised me with how well it flowed while still behaving itself on paper. It is a high quality ink that produces bright vivid greens and teals with a touch of bling thanks to a healthy dose of reddish sheen. This ink opened my eyes about Monteverde Inks and I would be glad to try other colors in their product line.Pros:-good controlled flow-easy cleaning-produces beautiful shading and red sheen (depends on paper and nib)-Big bottle at a good priceCons:-Color name is misleading.-bottle cap can be difficult to remove if ink dries on threads-not water resistant so be careful with important documents.Pens Used In Photos-TWSBI 580 Pen Used in sketch-TWSBI ECO Medium used in writing sample-Wing Sung 601 used in writing sample

Beautiful shading pink!
It arrived carefully wrapped and intact. Writing with it is an interesting experience as it flows nicely and glides okay, but still has a “dry” feeling. I don’t mind it one bit though. My lighting doesn’t do the color justice, but expect a light bubblegum-pink color that shades to a darker magenta with a heavier application. It seems to dry quickly (around 3 to 5-ish seconds), but I haven’t tested it properly. Depending on how much you lift your pen, you will either not see much shading at all or see a whole bunch of it. Overall, I really like this ink. I’ve read about these inks having the potential of growing molds, but after two-ish weeks there isn’t any (thank goodness). I think it might have been a past QC issue that was resolved.

90 mL is a lot more than I thought
This was the first ink I ever bought, and not having a sense of scale, I decided to get the 90 mL bottle. This was a big mistake. The bottle is huge, and I don't see how I can ever get through the entire thing in a single lifetime. I've started lending it to friends to make up for it.As for the ink itself, it's fairly good. A nice blue (I've found it to be very similar to the blue in Pentel Energel pens), with a nice wet flow. It is completely unremarkable in every way, and that's not a bad thing. If you want a reliable, professional-looking blue that is more focused on being functional than being eye catching, then I couldn't recommend it enough.

Beautiful Ink
This ink is literally my favorite color aside from black. I was worried it would be more green then it showed online, but it wasn't. I love how it writes. I do prefer it over Pelican ink.

Never disappointed with Monteverde. Great range of colours.
My 'go to' ink because of quality, dependability, value & colour selection.

Wonderful ink
I am a fountain pen lover. In reading ink reviews I came across a review which highlighted its many qualities so I thought I would give it a try. Flows beautifully and has not caused a problem of drying or clogging when I went for a week without using the inked pen. Minimal bleed through on notebook paper. It is very nice for note taking or journal writing. I very pleasant dark teal color that is easily used for check writing or more professional correspondence. It is dark enough to be discrete but classy.

One of my favorite ink of all time
Every month - i`m trying different inks (and i`ve tried closer to a hundred - mostly blue and black inks because i like classic), and i can tell this is by far one of my most favorite ink of all time. The ink is super wet! if you have a pen that tends to write on a dryer side - this would be a solution. But if you put this ink into a wet pen (Like Pelican M800 or Visconti) - you will get amazing juicy performance out of those combo, it`s going to be a gusher! The ink is very vibrant, very pronounced and does not decolorated (even slightly) after drying on the paper - which i absolutely love. To my opinion - this is a true Blue ink as it gets. Try 30ml first you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful color with excellent flow
This Caribbean Blue color is so much more beautiful in real life than in pictures. The ITF technology it boldly advertises stands for Ink Treatment Formula and has nothing to do with the ink having any resistance to water. The ink is not waterproof. The ITF is actually an additive that promotes ink flow and is advertised to help prevent clogging in the nib/feed (extending cap-off time) and improves ink drying time. As for the ink performing as advertised? I would say it does. The ink flows well but is not watery or thin. It's more like a feeling of being a lubricant in the pen. It does seem to extend cap-off time with the two pens used with this ink. (TWSBI DIamond 580 AL and Pilot Vanishing Point). The ink does provide the ability to get some shading, but not a lot. It does offer a wetter writing experience for whatever pen you are using. It dries fairly quick. I would recommend this ink.

Excellent
Excellent ink for my needs and satisfaction. It has a very pleasant color, dries fast on the applied paper and does not dry on the pen's nib.I really love it.

Negro muy polivalente
Es un negro para escritura diaria muy polivalente. No es muy intenso y eso hace que deje matices y sombras llamativas.
