I wouldn't pay that kind of shipping fee, That must have been offered from a third party seller. Buy it from Amazon Prime and if you are a Prime member the shipping is covered.

Is this bean product like others; halfway as sweet as desserts? Thanks.

They are not sweet which is pleasing to me. I like the flavor but I have been eatng them srince I was a little kid. When the local store stopped carrying them, I tried all the other brands but found like you that they are too darn sweet.

Are the beans cooked in bacon? I saw another vegetarian bake beans that the beans had been cooked in bacon.

No. They are NOT cooked in bacon. They are truly vegetarian, slow-baked beans, seasoned with molasses, spices, and a small amount. of pure cane sugar. Also important to me is that they do NOT use high-fructose corn syrup for sweetening as do some vegetarian beans. That is the most unhealthy of all the artificial sweeteners! These are delicious and healthy.
