Spot Loves His Grandma, Grandma Loves Spot!
Any book with Spot in it is a cute book, this one is no exception. Although this book wasn't quite what I expected; Spot goes to visit his grandma, he makes lemonade while she bakes a cake, he collects her chicken eggs, together they pick some apples from grandma's tree and finally, they read a book together before Spot goes home. I'm sure there are still grandmas who have chickens and apple trees but I doubt this is a majority that children are going to relate to. That said, the book showed Spot and his grandma spending the day together in a happy, loving environment. This is hopefully what little ones can relate to, away from home, no mom in sight, Spot is safe and happy with his grandma. A good purchase, at a good price.

Could use an updated version
My 17 month old granddaughter will like this book because she enjoys the Spot books, but as another reviewer noted, Grandma's activities with Spot need to be updated. Together they do four things in this book: bake a cake, gather eggs from the chickens, pick apples from Grandma's tree, and read a story. When Spot leaves, Grandma gives him eggs and apples to take with him. I grew up on a farm, but my granddaughter (and MOST children) will not relate to gathering eggs or even picking apples. Baking and reading together are pretty common activities with grandchildren. They might have also played a game, taken a walk, sang a song, played in the park, or done a puzzle.

My toddler loves her Grandma, but Grandma doesn't live on a farm....
So when we were reading this during story time, my toddler looked a little confused, because her Grandma doesn't have chickens or apple trees. I appreciated the whole "country living" feel to the story, and it'll be a good springboard to taking my little one to a farm or something when she's in preschool/kindergarten. As for now....she pointed to the chickens and gave me a quizzical look, as if asking if her Grandma has chickens too. That said, the story really brings through the joy that a little one can have with a grandparent. We got the "Spot Loves His Grandpa" book too!

Short and Sweet
Like all the "Spot" books, it contains hardly any true structure and remains short and sweet for the sanity of parents who are trying to read these stories to children who often have attention spans of fruit flies. If you are already familiar with the "Spot" series then I think you will enjoy adding this to your collection. It is not one of my favorites but my 2yr old daughter is interested right now in anything that reminds her of her Grandma. I would recommend this one of the series to any child who enjoys and loves their Grandma a whole lot:)I would recommend this to a friend.I would buy it again, the price was very decent.

A little cliché but cute
My mom would hate this book. She tries so hard to be a modern Grandma, she would be appalled by the cliché stuff you find in this book : Grandma is so... Grandma-ish ! I like it though, and my son too. I think it is a cute book for babies from 3-4 months to 2 years : you can gradually introduce your baby to colors, objects, etc... and it is easy to read and improvise. I like that it is a boardbook as my six months old puts everything in his mouth !

Spot loves Grandma was a big hit!
I have two four year old grandkids and they both love the Spot books! I generally buy the books for the kids but this one was to stay at my house so I could read it to them. They love the book and want me to read it over and over!

Gave two stars as the book itself is a nice gift for Grandma and little one to read together
Pages stuck together which has pulled off some of the imagery, very disappointing quality. Gave two stars as the book itself is a nice gift for Grandma and little one to read together.

Spot books
I bought these for my great niece - mainly because she has a dog called Spot but more because I remembered the books from my daughter's childhood. They still entrance small children. Definitely recommend this author.
