Best at-home rowing machine!
Let me just say, this rowing machine has completely transformed my fitness routine! The assembly was a breeze, and once I hopped on, I was blown away by the smooth and quiet operation. No clunky noises to disrupt my focus! The resistance levels are fantastic, providing just the right challenge for every workout session. Plus, the comfortable seat and ergonomic design makes each workout that much better. Trust me, if you're looking for a top-notch rowing machine that's both effective and enjoyable, this is the one for you!

Seems solid and an affordable alternative to Concept 2
I never write reviews but I thought I would for this machine since I read so many before purchasing. I've used a concept 2 at my work gym for several years, rowing 100k meters one year. So I'm pretty familiar with what's considered the gold standard of rowers. This is a good affordable alternative. I bought it for my wife to use and I use it too. I have no idea what the people who said their is not enough tension. They must have thought rowing is like using a cable weight machine. There is plenty of tension. I row at full resistance on the concept 2 and I row with this machine at about mid resistance. The seat is softer than the concept 2. But, you are pushing up hill a little and though that seemed to work my legs more, it started to hurt my butt in the 2nd half of a 5k row. It seems sturdy. Looks nice. Assembly was easy. If it lasts it will be great. Either the display computer is off or it's a tougher row than the concept 2. Takes me less than 25min to row 5k on concept and this took me 30min on first attempt. It was at the end of a hard day but I think it is more of a workout.

worth the money& plenty of resistance for any beginner-advance looking for cardio& body workout.
That price point this row machine is worth the money and has plenty of resistance in any setting. The row machine is extremely sturdy at (300lbs) capable and offers anyone the cardio and body workout I was are looking for at home. The best features at this price are sturdy, adjustable, non-moving secure foot pedals and a large seat and a smooth track. The only draw back would be the bare essential computer panel. Please, know that manufactures shipping box and storage of this item needed improvements and was delivered to me excessively damaged both times. The second one I kept with minor scratches and one dent in the metal in the rear base. Overall, this did not effect the performance of the row machine but nevertheless this is unacceptable to anyone buying products from Amazon as this product was not delivered by a second party on both occasions. This is why I give a 4 star rating. I hope you found this post to be helpful.

Decent build quality, monitor is terrible
The flywheel, structure and feel of rowing are good and feel comparable to rowing on a concept 2.However, the monitor is junk and is completely inaccurate. It assumes 6.5m per stroke and does not actually meaningfully measure pace or wattage.

Good Quality Rower!
I have been doing Crossfit for a while, due to the work schedule changed, I have to do my workout at home sometimes, Rowing is always one of my favorite exercise of all . The crossfit gym usually uses Concept2 rowers, but the price is much higher so it is not in my consideration. The Marcy rower is much affordable that fits my budget, and the quality of the system is actually quite nice. It took me about 30-40 min to assemble and I immediately started using it and did my first 5k on this equipment.I think the resistance level is good & the pull is very smooth - I was doing at 75% with the 5k and still get quite sweaty after .It would be nice if there is an iphone holder for the add on, so I can watch movie while rowing .Overall, its a good system for the price.

Just nope!
Let me start by saying that I have the Marcy MWM-988 home gym, and was so impressed that I decided I'd stick with this brand. After reading some of the reviews, I decided to give it a shot anyway. So, after it finally arrived and put it together here are my thoughts:It was pretty simple to put together, which was a plus. Took me about 30 mins. That's about where the praise ends. There were many holes where the screws would not tighten because the holes were too big. The middle portion did not touch the ground making it quite unsturdy. For those that have critiqued the lack of resistance...they are SPOT ON! Now, I wasn't expecting a Concept 2 or anything, but at least something. Those saying that the lack of resistance is due to poor rowing form, well that is pure nonsense. I've rowed off and on for quite some time and there was no resistance at all on the highest setting despite how quickly I extended.All-in-all, this is being sent back, and I'll save my money for the concept 2. I still love my Marcy home gym, I just wish this was up to that quality.

Good rower for the money
I've used a Concept 2 rower for the past 15-20 years at the gym, which I found to be an awesome machine. However, when it came to a home machine, I didn't want to spend that much money so looked for something similar. I chose an air machine as the sound it makes gives good feedback to the amount of effort you are putting into the workout. From reviews of magnetic machines, it sounds like they are quiet which would have seen odd based on my experience. One of the attributes I used to compare rowers with was the weight. I figured a heavier machine would be built more solidly and I wasn't wrong in my strategy. This doesn't look like it will fall apart anytime soon.I read some reviews that it doesn't give a good workout. As another reviewer pointed out, it is apparently user error. I don't pull that fast but do pull hard. Even in the easiest setting, I am huffing in now time flat. The only ding I can give the machine is that one of the feet did not screw in. On close examination, it could be seen that the threads were malformed. Customer support was super responsive and I am getting a new one, albeit with a delay as it had to be back-ordered. A piece of wood suffices for now so at least I can use it. This wasn't enough of an issue to deduct stars and I am very satisfied with my purchase.
