Dissolves Quickly; Accurate Results
+ Test chemical already in fine, powdery form in small sealed square pockets+ Dissolves quickly and takes only 1 minute get result; a competing product takes more than 4 minutes+ Has longer shelf life than a competing product+ Color chart simple to use to “bracket” the result phosphate ppm+ Accurate results (compared to water tests performed by local pool product store)- Incorrect product description: “20 strip count” and “Just dip and wait 15 seconds.” Actual item is test powder in individual sealed packagesAfter an algae bloom episode a couple of years ago due to high phosphates while having residual chlorine, I started to use this Aquachek product and Phosfree to monitor and control my pool phosphate level. I also used a competing phophate test kit at the same time to determine which was better. The color result from the competing test kit was a much darker blue color (higher phosphate reading) than that from the Aquachek. Comparing both to the phosphate test result from the local pool store showed that the Aquachek test result was accurate while the other one was reading too high. Also, the other product were small individual tablets instead of powder form and took about 4 times as long to dissolve as Aquachek. It also expired faster as Aquachek, as its tablets were contained in a rectangular strip with aluminum back and apparently not sealed as well. After a few months, the tablets turned black or a rust color and were no longer usable. The Aquachek color chart may not help to nail the actual phosphate down to the nearest 50 or 100 ppm, but it can help to bracket the phosphate level. I have been able to use this test kit in conjunction with maintenance doses of Phosfree to keep my pool water clear and algae-free without the need to make trips to the local pool store for water analysis for phosphates. I plan to continue using this product going forward.

Great Phosphate test kit for home use.
Great Phosphate test kit for home use. I was having issues with phosphates in my pool which was feeding algae growth. I hate running back and forth to the pool store so I wanted a kit to test at home. Picked this up on amazon for what I felt was a reasonable price. Kit is easy to use and instructions are easy to follow. My only suggestion and the reason I deduted one star is the measurement ranges are a bit high for pool use. You want phosphates to be under 100 parts. The lowest measurements are 0 and 200. 100 part scale would be more appropriate for pool use.

Indicators are more readable than other brands
The chemical indicators on the strips are more readable than other brands in the sense that there is more variation in the colors so it is easier to see the level of what ever chemical is being measured. I've tried cheaper brands and they aren't worth the money that you think you might be saving because I had to fall back to using a fluid test kit when I wanted more accuracy.

Easy to use.
Easy to use and simple to read result. Make sure to place the white paper under the tube and view from the top when assessing result color as directed. Viewing from the side can give you an inaccurate result.

Excellent. Must have!
I have been using Pool Perfect and PhosFree on a routine basis and it has tremendously helped keep my pool in balance. One day a very knowledgeable pool guy came to fix my pool & commented on the Pool Perfect product, but added that you really only need it if you actually have phosphates. He then asked if I have high phosphates? To which I replied, "I don't know, never tested for them. I just know the Pool Perfect PhosFree was a good product and is highly recommended". He chuckled and said why add a product if you are not even sure if you need it? He recommended I buy a Phosphate test kit to determine whether I actually need a Phosphate remover...brilliant idea! Why didn't I think of that?? I bought this kit and it has been instrumental in determining whether or not I have phosphates. Truth is, yes I do, and I really do need the phosphate remover. This is due in large part to all of the trees, shrubs and flowers around my pool constantly dropping organic matter into my pool all spring and part of summer. I use the kit to tell me when to stop using the other product and have even compared results with my local pool store who agrees with my findings (based on this test kit) when compared to there's which I believe is the same kit!Anyway would definitely recommend this to any pool owner who has lots of plants around their pool!Hope this helps!
