WORKS
The item does not fit a 2003 Chevy Blazer LS as claimed for a column shift cable. It is only for a floor shift cable and was falsely claim to fit my column shift. Was rejected by my repair garage as being the wrong part.

1998 Blazer/Jimmy Console (floor shifter)
My console aka floor shifter broke, likely the original shifter in my 1998 4door Jimmy. It broke where the transmission connection meets the cable inside the bellows and the manufacturing process uses plastic to connect a metal rod to a cable.Installation was easy with the right video on youtube. I had to remove the driver's side trim on the carpet and the kick panel, several of the clips broke on removal but they go through the floor and are plastic pinched by metal so exposed to water and rusted in the floor, big surprise they broke. I also removed the entire center console to route the cable as well as the cigarette outlet plug piece in front of my center console. All in all it went fine, as I verified my routing was the way the old cable was. The hardest part was the rubber insert in the floor, getting it to seat properly.I don't know if I can use 1st gear now, as my shifter doesn't really want to stay there, this could be my shifter, the routing I ended up, even though I followed how the old cable was and tried to adjust the cable by selecting Neutral and loosening the adjustment clip and tried to match the Neutral position on the transmission. I found the cable was a bit too 'short' even in the adjustment 'mode' to easily fit on in the Neutral position. P R N D 3 2 work and seat fine it is just 1 that doesn't really want to seat and would rather be in 2 and when I get it in 1 it easily slides to 2.For me this isn't a huge deal this is a 25 year old car, for the price I can drive, park, reverse and that's all I'm wanting from this vehicle at this time. Perhaps with some use the cable will better adjust and I will try in the spring/summer again to adjust it again but when other parts are double the price or more this is fine and well worth the money for my unusable shift cable.
