Poison Ivy Soap Stop The Itch, 3.84 Ounce

I had the misfortune of needing to use this last week and didn’t have any water with me. Turns out saliva works just as well to activate the lather and the soap is extremely effective at stopping the itch and halting the spread of the oils from poison ivy.I was identifying plants when I realized a long red scratch on my arm was burning like mad. I thought I’d gotten into thorns but I wasn’t bleeding and I didn’t feel anything scratch me. Investigated the area I was in and found some poison ivy growing up a shrub.The itch and burn stopped immediately. The irritation was gone about three hours later with no resurgence.I love that this soap is small enough to fit in my pocket, so it doesn’t take up much rook in my field bag. The little plastic bag it comes in is perfect for storage. I barely used any of it and it was very effective.

I have tried almost every poison ivy/oak/sumac product on the market, and this is the one that works best. I scrub for at least 60 seconds, then leave the lather on for 2 minutes. Rinse completely, as the urishriol oil that causes the allergic reaction is now in the lather. The soap literally pulls the oil out of your skin. I have had so many bouts of terrible reactions to poison ivy/oak throughout my life, and this is the only consistent relief I have found. I live in Louisiana, where poison oak is rampant. As soon as I’m done working in the yard, I wash off with this soap. If I feel even a twinge of reaction after being outside, I use this soap. It has changed my life. I no longer fear yard work or outdoor activities. I carry it with me on every camping trip. I was in Costa Rica visiting a friend who was working with the local Coast Guard. We were at a Coast Guard training location, and talking to one of the instructors. He talked about this rash that his trainees would get when they were working in the forests. I told him about this soap, and ended up giving him my bar. He was so grateful. The next time he saw my friend, he was singing the praises of this soap. He may have been using it for the Manzanillo tree, which is related to poison ivy/oak.

My first bar of Poison Ivy Soap was a gift to me, a gift purchased in a shop which has closed since then. Because the soap worked so well at removing the urushiol oil which causes the skin’s reactions to poison ivy, and because it spared me severe suffering and great expense to cure the reactions, I had searched many places for this soap yet could not locate it. Thank you to Amazon for having the product available! I want to keep this item on hand since no other poison ivy fighting product is as affordable and removes the urushiol oil as easily with only a few washings. With the use of Poison Ivy Soap I am free to live without the fear of coming in contact with a surprise occurrence of the plant. Using this soap either regularly or right away on needed occasions allows me to garden, hike through the woods, or pet a pet who might have come in contact with poison ivy somewhere – all activities I had come to dread in spite of great efforts to be rid of any growth of the plant. Having this soap has renewed my enjoyment of the growing season and its activities. I find it helpful to keep a bar of this soap at home and to take another bar in a travel kit since poison ivy’s oil can be in various places, and reactions to it can take about three days to become evident. It is not a soap to be without if a person is allergic to the urushiol oil, and for many people who have been immune to it all their lives, the first reaction to poison ivy is a surprise. I will be a repeat customer for Poison Ivy Soap!

I bought this soap because I work outdoors for the summer and I weed whack tons of poison ivy! This soap worked really well for a few weeks for me. After a few weeks, it didn't work as well, but I would still recommend this product. This is just my experience, and everyone has a different experience. I just have poison ivy constantly and so I use this soap on my arms every day after work. It has healed my poison ivy, but for me, it does not take the itch away. Again, everyone has different experiences, but this soap has healing properties and I would recommend it to anyone that suffers from poison ivy.

I am going to do something I very rarely do for a product: I am going to give this product a 5/5. It has exceeded my expectations.This was the first time in my life where I had contracted a poison ivy rash (I am assuming it was poison ivy as I am still unsure about what I actually came in contact with in my backyard). It is true what people say: you have no idea the depth of the itch that is generated by these plants. While I was treating the spreading rash with various ointments (Ivarest is also very good!), it was only this soap that truly gave me relief. Upon receiving it, I immediately washed my affected areas (most of my legs to my midsection) with the soap. Within about fifteen minutes, I noticed that the itchiness of the rash was reduced by about 50%! The soap also left a pleasant "tightness" in my skin that was similar to the feeling that witch hazel gives when applied to the skin. What a relief! Even more impressive was the fact that by the next day I noticed the ugly red welts that have spread across my legs were beginning to fade. It took time, but after a week of using this soap the rash had almost completely vanished. Granted, I started using this soap two weeks after developing the rash - I understand skin irritations like this generally run their course in about three weeks - but I do not think it was a coincidence that my skin started to make a dramatic improvement with twenty-four hours of first using of this soap. One last compliment: unlike other specialty soaps, this bar of soap did not dissolve with just a few uses. I used this soap twice a day, with the bar lasting for about a full two weeks.Again, I don't often give five star reviews to a product, but this product merits the score. Highly recommended!
