Slight vision warping (only slight!!)
This monocle is really great! It has no prescription, so it can be used just for looks. (no pun intended) It fits very nicely onto my eye, and the galleries (the little extensions beyond the rim) make it easily popped in and secure! There is, in fact a lens, but it doesn't have a prescription. However, it is bent just a little around the edges to give it a nice effect. But it is a little distorted. Nothing you don't get used to within half a minute, but it is a monocle, so when you take it off, your eyes are just slightly, almost imperceptibly out of focus. One more thing, the lanyard is a little too short, and does not have a bead to tighten it around your neck, like a bolo tie. I just used some 5mm string and tied a leather strip around it for the bead. It slides nicely, and looks fine.Overall a fantastic buy, adds character, and makes for a great party attraction! (and if you're outside, it earns you a ton of great looks and some car honks!)

Reading the Writing on the Wall
Few products in today's world have as rich a history as the monocle. Whether you want to talk about games (Uncle Pennybags of Monopoly, who you probably know as Mr Monopoly), politics (Monocle Lewinsky of Gap blue dress fame) or racing (The Monocle Grand Prix) the monocle is there with you. How better to look distinguished than a gold monocle. Forget reading, which it is very helpful for but as an ice breaker it's fantastic! It fits beautifully and at this price who can resist!

I don't like it
So I'm a small person, with a smallish face, but I couldn't get this monocle to fit my eye socket. It was way too big. This monocle is not magnifying. It's very light weight, so if it did fit, one could wear it for a while. The cord is an ugly round brown braid, with a knot at the end. A big ugly knot. It's NOT leather, like they advertised. The overall impression you get from this is cheapness. Not what one wishes to convey with a monocle.I disrecommend it. But it may be a good buy for the price.

It worked
It worked for the look but we couldn’t figure out how to make it stay on his face. So he just scunched his face in every picture to keep it on which worked but it wud have been nice if he could have walked around the parade with it on his face the whole time

It does not always stay put, but enough practice will get it right.
You get what you pay for, and I am not saying that that is a bad thing, not by any means with this piece. It is a nice, simple monocle for those days you feel like you may want to add just a touch of fancy to yourself, it is big enough that there is really no way that it could obstruct ones vision yet not so big that it is all too difficult to wear comfortably. It does feel a bit strange to wear at first, but no discomfort. The cord could be a bit longer but is fine as it is. The "galleries" could possibly be modified to fit better, but I am not a monocle expert so they may be perfect, I do not know. It does take a bit of situating to get to fit and stay, but like I said, I am not a monocle expert. All in all, great buy. (Randall Oates' review states that it "is green and has gold gears on the lens," but the one I received did not and I assume that they had received the following product: Gold Steampunk Monocle.)

WORTHLESS
Well, that's $11 lost. The advertising weasel words say it all, that it's sized to fit most 14 yrs old to adult. Sure it is. What's most, 51% of the population, 99% of the population? It is WAY too big for me and is too delicate to customize. One fitting wire snapped off immediately when I attempted bend-to-fit. Most of the monocles sold on Amazon are the same size. I don't know who they fit. I'm an adult male with a large head, though that does not mean my eye sockets will also be large. I had hope. Good luck with this one. You pays your money and you takes your chances. Mine is going to the garbage. I would be better off bending and soldering a wire, then gluing on a thin piece of plexiglass as a lens. At least it would fit.
