There are some very slight imperfections but I think it adds character. The build is solid. From a functional standpoint, it works well and the double walled steel retains the heat pretty well. Upon first examination, I almost returned it because it looked like water could get in through the plunger hole on the lid. (This would have been a major concern from a sanitation standpoint because residual chemicals from the manufacturing process as well as oxidation could not be cleaned out and would drip into the reservoir contaminating the coffee.) Thankfully, I was incorrect in my assumption. I separated the plunger from the lid to discover that a metal guide cylinder has been welded from the top of the lid (entry point of plunger) to the bottom of the lid (exit point of plunger). This completely seals the void within the lid and allows for thorough cleaning. I recommend washing the entire product with hot soapy water prior to use. For the lid, I recommend removing the plunger and running a few Q-Tip swaps through the plunger hole to clean out the oxidation/residual byproducts of the manufacturing process ( I did this and it was very dirty). I have not washed it in the dishwasher yet, so I cannot speak on that. Hand washing is sufficient for me. I've used it to brew both tea (with very fine particles) as well as coffee. The screen mesh of the press is very effective at separating the tea/coffee debris. I am very pleased with this purchase. I'm not sure if the copper coating is real copper (it looks real). Time will tell as I am hoping for a nice patina to form on the external finish over time. I'm assuming that the material is 304 Stainless Steel, but I could be wrong. Enough of the technical stuff - the press works great, is much more durable then your standard glass press (which I always seem to get broken under my watch), keeps the beverage warm for a long time, and just straight up looks good!

This French Press Coffee Maker is not only beautiful but geniusly designed. The pot is all one piece with the handle out just far enough for comfort & safety. It feels so smooth, no sharp edges or screws & is a pleasure to use. Easy to clean & has a super shiny copper finish over stainless steel that has not changed with everyday use. The plunger is also entirely stainless, easy to use, has a taught fit so as to press firmly & evenly yet not too difficult to press while pot remains stable. Stays warm long enough to enjoy at least two cups at your leisure with virtually no grounds. The coffee tastes as good or better than any French Press Coffee Maker I have used. It may not have the classic glass carafe with the fancy metal housing but has a very distinct style all its own adding a lovely rosy color to your kitchen that attracts the eye. A great value at a low price,, I prefer this over fragile glass carafes that I have used for years and have actually shattered while making the coffee.

QUALITY french press indeed. The product comes just as described and the copper finish is depicted accurately (it is GORGEOUS). It's great at keeping grounds out of your coffee and it makes strong coffee rich in flavor. One feature I like in particular is the lid, as it allows you to close off the spout opening (to better contain heat) by simply spinning the lid around. The only complaint I have is that there is a little nick in the finish on the bottom of the press, but I'm still not even complaining because everything else is so quality and it's just on the bottom so who's going to notice, right?

I’ve been using a one cup glass French press for over 4 years now, before that a regular drip coffee maker. This insulated French press has completely elevated my mornings! I have a beautiful, full flavored cup while getting ready in the morning and enough HOT coffee leftover for my travel mug. With a glass press I knew I’d have to microwave my coffee after awhile. This one keeps it nice and hot for at least an hour. The outside is really pretty too. It cleans up easily, just scoop the grinds out and dump them, then give the pitcher and filter a quick rinse.

Just got this beautiful French Press, I've used it twice and the coffee is excellent! I've never used a French Press before and it was so easy. It also stays hot for a long time and I'm a sipper so I take my time drinking my morning coffee. I bought this particular coffee maker because it's solid stainless steel and copper plate. Several of the reviews mentioned the glass ones would crack if the water was too hot. I love my new press and will be using it every day.

Love this thing. It’s about as easy to clean as a French press is ever going to be, it’s built so that (at least so far) no water is going to get between the walls, or in the hollow lid and get stinky/gross, and it does keep coffee hot a bit longer than the standard glass press. There were a couple of imperfections on the finish (like a bump in the laminate that helps it stay tarnish-free), but nothing more noticeable than the light scratches I’m sure I’ll give it with a little more wear!

Very beautiful french press. My wife loves it, and so do I. I primarily bought it for her for brewing herbal teas, but I have started using it a lot as well for making coffee. There is absolutely no comparison between coffee machine-brewed coffee, and french press coffee. I would drink coffee from a french press all day long if I could. The only reason I gave a 3 for easy to clean, is french presses in general are a pain. I have some concerns about the longevity of the mesh filter screen; how long it will last after 2-3 times per day use, but I'm sure I"ll be able to fashion a replacement when needed. Overall this purchase was a great value. The copper plating looks really sharp.
