This Darbuka sounds amazing and looks great also.
This Darbuka is a great investment. I found that with the right mic (a condenser). I can get professional sounding recordings to compliment my studio work. I have three hand drums now and the Darbuka is the most fun to play. It has a high pitched tone and the metal gives it a very unique timbre. When you play it sideways on your lap (this is the traditional way to play it) you can even hear some pretty rich bass tones. I watched a couple of Youtube videos on it and the more I practice the more fun it is. Whether you are a serious drummer or playing for fun you can’t go wrong here.

Good Little Darbuka!
After the original one that I received arrived damaged, The seller quickly replaced the Darbuka without hesitation. The customer service/support from Eastern Bazzar/Darbuka Planet (Jaron) was outstanding. I couldn't have asked for any better. The 16" Darbuka is really nice, sounds great & fun to play. I haven't tried ZAZA's products and I wanted an inexpensive Darbuka to learn on. I mess around with other percussion instruments (Cajon, Djembe, etc.) but wanted to learn the finger/hand drumming techniques for the Darbuka too. Once I get the hang of it, I most likely will also be purchasing a nice ZAZA Doumbek from Eastern Bazzar.

Beautiful instrument
It’s absolutely beautiful. The comments helped me in my choice, as this is my first attempt at learning the darbuka. My only negative was the condition of the box…the package was torn and dented. I was relieved and surprised that the drum wasn’t damaged. It was sent by UPS not my regular reliable Amazon person.

Received used drum with damaged head, but still decent
It's a pretty drum and it plays okay, but the one I got was dirty and had light wear and tear and the head had a big old crease in it. Still sounds okay, though. A good product, if you get a new one.

good sound. not for “daily” use
this sounds very good. For the price it’s great. But it is very lightweight. And if you’re actually going to really get into dumbek/darbuka do you want to get something heavier that surround $200but for the prices this is good and has good sound

Arrived damaged in an undamaged shipping box
It might be a good drum, but it arrived dented, bent and with paint flacking off. The shipping box was in perfect condition, so it was probably already damaged when it was packed for shipping. Returned.

Solid Darbuka
This is is a quality Darbuka for a very reasonable price. My first one, both my self and young kids are enjoying it. We are still learning it, so I highly recommend it for a starter, but even better for an experienced one too
