Q: what can I buy if I want something similar for FX series?

I bought this for my fluval fx4 just bought an adapter to take the hose size down to a 5/8 to correct the tube size issue.

Q: Will this work for a sunsun?

made for the fluval 06 and 07 . hose if same size will work . Will not fit larger hose like FX models

Q: Does it come with any tubing?

Yes it comes with one short tube. It is all you need as it will use the tubes from your filter also.

Q: Does it fits directly into the aquarium water or need to install it inside canister inside the sump?

The unit is not installed in the water. It is mounted outside the aquarium . You remove the the exhaust tube from the filter discharge connection on the plastic fixture that returns the water to the tank and connect it to the inlet of the clarifier. then connect the tube they supplied to the plastic fixture that returns the water to the tank and the other end to the outlet connection on the clarifier.
