Bayland Premier Lux Series colored pencils were designed for artists seeking a premium product without the extravagant price. While professional grade pencils may offer greater color variety or deluxe packaging, often times the ultra soft and sometimes oily cores cannot hold up to daily amateur use. These artist grade pencils will stand up to your everyday coloring requirements while offering an appropriate color wheel, soft cores for thicker application and advanced blending techniques, as well as smudge-free permanence. Made with polished, round basswood shafts, these wax-based pencils are comfortable to grip and will resist internal and sharpener breakage that ultimately shortens the lifespan of higher grade pencils. Third Valley Brands, LLC is a California based US company. Family owned and operated, we stand behind the quality of our products and back them with a steadfast guarantee. If you are not 100% satisfied with the product, return the remaining unused portion for a full refund of your original purchase price, hassle-free.

Work well for the money- medium wear and great layering
Recommended by a friend as I was unaware of the brand. Great range of color in the set and sharpen easily. No breakage and wear is medium speed, in my opinion. Some of the lower quality pencil brands wear quickly, which can be annoying - not the case with these. I found them to layer well and blend nicely. Overall, a good quality upper-end set for those doing serious work.

Excellent pigments, great quality colored pencil! 5☆
This is an excellent buy. The best thing about these pencils is their pigments. They are excellent! These color pencils are bright, very rich and are blendable. Not scratchy on paper, they don't leave little snags nor do they leave those little dots of non colored space while drawing. They didn't smear neither, (as highly pigmatated pencils sometimes will do.) :) They layer well, and with the darker colors in the set you can get multiple shades of blues, purples etc easily. The darker colors are beautiful in this set. These pencils are rounded off at the end and are very smooth to grip and hold, a tiny bit slippery at first but you get used to it. These color pencils are 5☆ Very pleasantly surprised to find such high quality colored pencils at a good price. I highly and 100% recommend this product.

Great alternative to Prismacolor
Great product for the price! I've been an art teacher for 7 years and would definitely recommend to my students. The colors are vibrant and blend really well. Prismacolor is my go-to for colored pencils, but these seem to be a great alternative at a much nicer price point. They're not as soft as Prismacolor, so you can lay down a sharper edge while still getting nice, rich coverage.

Really Good starter kit
I bought a couple different brands of colored pencils for Christmas gifts this year. I was trying to see if I could get the pigment saturation of the Prismacolor for a slightly lower price. Bayland's Premier Lux Series is one of the ones I bought. The first picture shows 2 brands I bought next to a Prismacolor I've had and used for a long time. You can see the Atmoko's high wax content in the writing and the color sample on the left. You can see Bayland's color sample is similar to Prismacolor in the 1st and 2nd photos, but I should note: Bayland does have a higher wax content than Prismacolor. You can feel it when you lay pencil point to paper. In the 2nd photo I laid in 12 strokes on the side of the pencil point for each color, and bordered them with 4 strokes. My personal opinion is I like the Bayland's slightly thinner point for outlines, and the slightly higher wax content will make it good for shading. I love Prismacolor's high pigment content though, and ordered some of those just in case the others didn't work out as I'd hoped. I think with the Bayland and Prismacolor sets in my artkit I'll be able to get the fine lines in more colors that I sometimes want that Prismacolor's Very Thins don't offer, but I'll still want Prismacolor's heavy pigment that I can layer in, then mix and shade with the Bayland pencils. I also found some of the Bayland colors laid in a more translucent layer, as seen in the 4th picture, but they still provided good coverage. I think I'll enjoy the ability to go that translucent with my drawings.

Very nice quality pencils
I bought these as a gift to myself. They have wonderful pigment and blending capabilities. They’re very nice quality pencils. The only downside: my son took them for his art class before I could buy him a set of his own. So we are both very pleased with these.

Nice variety of colors and great for coloring line art
One of the nice things about this set is that it has 48 colors, which is a nice selection to choose from for most coloring. These are harder leads and I personally do not use the harder leads for blending or on grayscale images. But these pencils will give you a nice sharp point that you'll find is especially nice for more detailed line art. These would be fine for most ages, and would also make a nice gift for colorists.

Blend well and good price....
These pencils blend well, but the pigment isnt as dark as the pencils that I use now. The price is good but I would still sacrifice the couple extra dollars for brighter and darker colors. Also, there are no numbers or color names on the pencils to identify the color. They are a good choice for the money, if these things are not important to you. They are smooth and a good price.
