You're absolutely correct. I bought 2 boxes and together they weighed just shy of 10 lbs. They may have dried out some during processing and transport. I'm still satisfied with them because they are clean and high quality. I'm using them to make mushroom spawn and they went farther than I expected. I soaked them overnight prior to use and that made them weigh more than 8 lbs per box. I'm actually glad they didn't weigh more or I may have not got free shipping, which was one reason I bought them.

Q: To the seller: How much is actually in a box?

The box is full. Not packed down hard, but densely packed. I filled up a 5 gallon lion's mane grow and I have enough to easily do one more....Maybe two. That is how much. ;-)
