Modified my reverse osmosis system to filter water to my refrigerator
I recently modified my reverse osmosis system to filter water to my refrigerator, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.I was concerned about fitting everything in a cabinet, but with some careful planning, this system worked perfectly. The compact nature of the components made it easier to install, even in the tight space in an overhead cabinet. I had to do some creative adjustments, and buy a few extra parts to convert water lines, but the system was flexible enough to accommodate the setup. One of the main goals was to have filtered water directly to my refrigerator since that is where we primarily get our drinking water. The installation process was a bit of a DIY project, but it went smoothly, and the system now feeds clean, purified water straight to my fridge. It’s made a huge difference in the taste and quality of the water from the refrigerator dispenser and ice maker (cleaner looking ice too). The reverse osmosis filtration itself is top-notch, this is the second house I have installed one at. The water quality is crystal clear and noticeably better than before. It removes all the impurities, and I can really taste the difference.Even though it’s a tight space, the system is well-designed and didn’t require major adjustments beyond the initial setup. The fact that I was able to fit it in a small cabinet and still get excellent performance speaks to the system’s versatility. After getting some hose couplers, I was pleased to find that the system runs smoothly without needing constant attention. I love that it provides filtered water without requiring much maintenance or adjustment once everything was in place.

Provides Better than Bottle Qualify Water
This unit was replacing my GE RO system that had 3 filter cartridges (one horizontal RO and 2 vertical carbon) that were very messy to replace. This Whirlpool RO system provides TDS levels of 13 right out of the box very similar to what I have measured in bottled water and tastes great just like the messy GE one.My only complaint is the quality and installation of the faucet. It is kind of cheap and with the toggle bolts difficult to install. For that reason I used my old faucet which can be purchased for less than $30. It just needs to include an air gap for the RO drain, or you can install an Air Gap replacement that includes an RO drain connection along with the dishwasher input (AG200-005). Otherwise the unit is a great value. Before you purchase any RO system, buy a TDS (total dissolved solids) meter ($11.98 at Amazon). These give you an indication of the purity/quality of the water and the performance of the RO system. Less than 50 TDS is what an RO system should provide according to the meter. A good RO system should reduce TDS by 90 to 95% with every glass. Before I purchased this Whirlpool system, I tried a tankless system. The system knocked down the TDS by about 60 to 70% (~112 TDS) and you could tell in the poor taste (our cold water input is in the high 300s TDS). You had to run the faucet for 20 to 30 seconds to get the TDS down to about 20, wasting almost 1/2 gallon of water. So much for the claim that the tankless systems put less water thru the drain than tank systems. After 3 months this RO system consistently provides water with TDS of less than 10 with great taste!! Great system and price and doesn't really take up too much room under the sink.

this is the one to get
I've been ordering bottled water from a local water filtration company that brings 5 gallon bottles.. excellent water and we go through about 5, 5 gallon bottles every 2 weeks, and now because of the virus I'm not so excited to get the delivery, that guy who visits a dozen+ homes per day, or go to the store directly and pick them up myself. In turn, I was looking at RO filters on Amazon and studied the reviews of similar priced water filters... there are a few good companies and options to get.. some add ph, add minerals, etc.. but my friend suggested I go with Whirlpool and this exact model. I am soooo pleased with this purchase, I can't stop telling people to get this one. It was fairly easy to install, I read the manual and installation steps carefully.. planned the install and did it myself in about an hour and a half. Pretty straight forward, you will need to cut the tubes; use a brand new clean razor to cut the tubes to the proper length, please practice a few small cuts close to the end so that you don't cut too much off and end up having to order new tubes. Once you're done, you will need to drop 3ml of Clorox bleach into the system to disinfect it, then run the water for 24 hours. Once the system is purged, the reservoir fills up again and it's ready to use. So far after a few days there are no issues, the water tastes great and I have such peace of mind now.. I can forget about calling to order a water delivery. It's a great system, Whirlpool is a great brand, the other brands might be good too but think about the replacement filters. Beware, the parts are plastic, I suggest you take your time and don't over torque it. I'm so relieved this system is working great and the water is absolutely perfect. The best $200 I spent so far this crappy year. Don't forget to put the 3ml bleach through the system to disinfect. Be well and be safe.

They work well
The water taste fine and It fits the Can’t canisters and very easy to put on and remove the old one. It would be nice for them to last a little longer than they do.

Replacement filters are easy to find even in local hardware store
This makes our poor tasting tap water taste great! It was easy to install. The tank could be a little bigger but at least it refills quickly if you do happen to empty it.

Excellent water, simple operation
Replaced an older EcoWater system for which I could not find replacement cartridges under $100. This produces excellent, great-tasting water, and the cartridges are available everywhere at modest prices. Installation was remarkably simple, although that is in part because I followed the pattern of the older system. The instructions are clear enough, any reasonably handy person should be able to do it. We are very, very pleased. Note: let it run for several gallons after installation, and when you change filters, to get rid of cloudy particles.
