Good pool cover
We purchased the first one and used it for 2 years. Unfortunately it was damaged by an animal and had to be replaced so we bought the same one again

Good cover. Forget about the complainers.
I read the reviews in the fall before buying this cover. I saw cheap, bad sewing, bad grommets, etc. Although the cover seemed lightweight it handled a northern Ohio winter with gold stars. No ripping or grommet problems. I saw this cover strained with huge amounts of snow and ice on it with no problems at all. As long as they last around here I would purchase another with no regrets. An addendum after another winter. This cover is still in pristine shape. No holes or tears. Longest lasting cover I have ever had. Great purchase.

Crazy reviews!
OK first and foremost I’ve been reading everybody’s reviews and I cannot understand where some of these people are coming from. This is the second one I have owned and yes they are disposable they do not last. However the cord is plenty long and the latch has never failed me and where I live out here in Athol Idaho the winds get whipping they ripped the shingles right off peoples roofs. The cover I have pulls down about 3 feet over all the sides of my round pool and when I have it tight it stays on. It also seems to help heat the top layer of water in the pool if you keep it on there during the sunshine and no one‘s using it. It’s very light weight so my young kids can help me pull it over the top of the pool. And if I take care of it it lasts well through the summer and keeps the pool clean through the fall. I take the cover off in the winter after all the leaves have fallen because we get snow. And another note I do put cross strings across my pool at every leg when I have my tarp up to hold it up off the water. I do notice that if you try to use it the second year you start getting a little blue particles in your pool for a and strings. I have a very good filter system using two pumps and the bottom skimmer that runs off the one pump so I pick up all those little particles. Once I find that happening I quit using the tarp. I also have a salt water chlorinator and I think the salt water tends to deteriorate it a little quicker. I haven’t found a better option.

Purchased with being disposable in mind.
Over the years we've purchased the high dollar 20 year warranty covers. We've bought pass throughs to let rain water through and we've bought water tight. ALL of them never live up to their claims and the warranties end up being more hassle than worth. So this year while researching someone suggested buy cheap and think of it as disposable. No summer storage, no worries of winter wear and tear.... SO.. I did and here is what I think out of the box.It arrived very well packaged. open here sticker indicating where they had placed extra cardboard inside the box to prevent the cover from being damaged while opening the shipping box. Once inside the box the cover was wrapped in a nice thicker plastic bag. I actually kept it to keep other pool items in over winter (thermometer and ionizer). It was thin and lightweight which for me installing it was a plus because it was easy to handle and manage. We'll see if the winter is as nice to it. Grommets were placed in pairs which I really liked. And despite the lack of it being in the description there was a standard cable and wire included. I think the weave of the cover was tight and the stitching was good. All in all I'm very pleased with thinking of this as disposable. If I were buying a cover with warranty (which this one did not say there is unlike some of the other reviews I read) I may look else where but I'm not absolutely sure I would. I am initially impressed. If i weren't looking at this as disposable I'd rate it 4 stars as a new purchase out of the box and that is only because of it being thin and i'd have concerns... but if it made it through the first winter I'd bump that right up to 5 again.

Waste of Money/Poor Quality/Doesn't last 1 season/ Company refuses to honor "warranty"
If you need a quick fix, that will only last one season - then this is your product! I purchased this cover in October. We covered the pool and used the enclosed cable. I wish I had paid more attention to the reviews. The cover separated at the seams, the eyelets tore. The cover itself collected water and we had to bail water after it rained each time. By spring there were several holes, small tears throughout the entire cover. Even a few larger tears. The cover is very thin. There is nothing supreme about this cover at all. A cheap tarp from your local hardware store would do as good a job.I contacted Preferred Products, the seller, since there is "10 yr warranty". I was told to send pictures. I sent them several times (at least 3). I would follow up in a few days and was told each time, they had not received any pictures. I finally sent each picture separately. then after a couple days, I was told that only seam separation is covered under warranty. My pool cover was not going to be covered under warranty. This is what I was told: "The Winter Cover Warranty covers manufacturer's defects and seam separation only. Cover damage due to improper chemical balance, improper handling, tears from sharp objects, heavy hold-downs, excessive abrasions by wind or sharp tool edge and/or improper attachment, ice/snow or things falling into the pool, rodents, or other similar situations are NOT COVERED by warranty."I really feel like they are just working around replacing the poor quality of product. I don't mind trying out a product if a company is going to stand by their product. This company does not!

Lightweight but thin
Lighter and easier to handle than my last pool cover, but the plastic is thin and the grommets tear out easily when the wind blows and stresses the tie-downs. There is nothing "deluxe" about this cover. It will be a throwaway after one year's use.

Topper
Was a brutal winter but survived great. Wind, lots of heavy snow, cold.

Great for the price!
This is my second time purchasing this winter cover for my pool. I buy them knowing after one year it will be disposable and I’ll need a new one, but for the price, why not? It held up well last winter with harsh winters of MI. We will see what it does this winter but so far so good with the installation!
