Great dryer vent
This what should always be installed for roof top dryer vent. Has a metal flange that goes through the wood deck if roof. To keep humidity and moisture away from wood. The top then mounts over the flange. Is very heavy metal gauge and can be re- used if replacing shingles. Excellent videos on line to show install and how vent functions. Well worth the cost

No better vent for dryer
Smoothest vent on the market. Lint hardly, if at all, collects in this vent. It also allows great access when the vent pipe needs to be cleaned.Very sturdy construction and great painted finish. Super easy to install. I wouldn’t use anything other than this for the dryer vent application

A Real Improvement!
Got the Dryer Jack Installed last week. Had been having problems with the PLASTIC one that the roofers installed when the roof was replaced a few years ago. Poor design led to water coming down the dryer vent and pooling on the laundry room floor when we had a hard rain with a good wind that blew the little flap open. No practical way to reroute the dryer vent so we needed a better roof vent and I believe the InOvate Dryer Jack will do the job. We haven't had a hard rain with wind since we installed it which will put it to the test but it is made of metal with a nice finish and a flap with a much better design to keep and rain and critters. The installation video was great. Installation went without a hitch. So glad to get that plastic thing off my roof. It was cracking into pieces. Shame on them for installing such crap!

one of the better made vents
Pro's and Con's of the DryerJack vent - Plus, it's made out of heavy gauge material that feels very solid and looks good. Minus - the flap didn't drop feely at first and I had to lubricate the hinges to get it to drop closed freely and there isn't any type of barrier or screen to keep birds out if the flap doesn't close all the way. After spraying the hinges and drilling holes along the edge of the vent I criss-crossed stainless steel wire across the front that will keep birds out in case the flap starts sticking in the future. That said, it's still one of the best roof dryer vents out there.

Better flow than the plastic ones used for bathroom exhaust
My home came equipped with a plastic roof vent that is traditionally used for broan/bathroom vents that aren't made for lint. Last winter we actually had a small roof leak where wet lint was freezing and wicking snow water in between the 4" vertical dryer duct and the decking. Mind you, I am up on the roof every summer with a dryer duct cleaning tool. But the original vent just isn't designed for dryers. I worry also about my insurance company potentially denying a claim if there were ever a fire related to the dryer ducting. Dryer Jack, as I understand it, is the only code compliant interior wall dryer duct vent. What I like most is the generous steel bib around the base. The sides and top tuck under the shingles, but the forward facing plate that would have hot exhaust facing it covers the shingles. In my mind, this will have snow on it in the winter, and where the old duct allowed snow to melt and really heat cycle the shingles in front of it, the Dryer Jack protects the shingles with a generous width of plating. The wide mouth and shiny black look great on the roof, and the steel damper raises and lowers with the clothes turning in the dryer so you know it is working - unlike the plastic one that would get stuck open sometimes. You can hear the difference too. The seal is going to depend on you as the installer, but Dryer Jack makes it easy gor you to follow their youtube instructional and also the packaged instructions. DO NOT buy the roof collar that they mention. This kit comes with it! Use premium roof sealant and be very gentle with your shingles. I ripped one shingle left to right about 3" and had to apply a little sealant to remedy the situation. I think the vent is reasonably priced for what it is, and it is peace of mind that I havent had for the 5 years I have owned my home. I have pictures to share with you, but they are not great. I installed this at 8:30pm since it has been so incredibly hot in Northern Indiana. I finished up at 11pm and we got a popup storm. I just covered it with a 5 gallon bucket and in the morning I let it cook in the blazing sun. These were the pictures I took just as it started to pour.

Perfect replacement for original vent.
We purchased our home new and it came with the original dryer vent on the roof. Unfortunately it had a type of screen vent that would clog with lint every few months. So I would have to go up into the attic, separate the vent pipe and clean the screen for the cloths to dry properly.I wanted to find a solution and this Dryer Jack vent was it. I did hire Dr. Roof to do the installation as it was three stories up and I don't trust myself not to fall off the roof :-). This vent is designed so there is no screen and it offers the best air flow on the market. Our cloths dry easily and I never have to perform the lint removal process in the attic anymore. It works perfectly!
