Works as intended and expected - easy controls and convenient cord routing.
There is a baseboard heater behind my desk so was happy to find a mat heater that had a cord coming out the side and could run the control and cord over to the outlet alongside the desk. Control is secured to side of desk withVelcro - controls are easy and intelligent, one button to turn on/off, another to select timer - 1, 6, 12 Hours, and two to adjust temp setting. It is sitting on a small rug, over a concrete floor, and really adds heat to the bottom of my shoes and boots. In winter, I am usually bringing snow in on them and it doesn't seem to bother the mat at all. Work great for me.

Exactly what I didn't know I wanted
This works wonderfully for the concrete floors in my office. It's a concrete building even with a rug it was not comfortable and I got foot cramps from the cold.I keep this under my desk, turn it on when I get to work and it heats immediately.I keep my shoes on it, and also my slippers. So if I have to get up to go across the room I can just put on my slippers. Then if I need to go further I choose the shoes. The empty footwear doesn't get too warm, but better than when it's been sitting on the concrete.I turn it off when I leave the office, but with the automatic timer I don't have to be concerned I'll forget. the cord is long enough. It's made an immense difference with the temperature in the teens last week and in this wonderful, sturdy, but entirely concrete building.I did get the largest available size, and it was the right choice as I would not be happy with a smaller size.By the way, we used to have carpeting in this room and removing it for polish concrete did not affect the floor temperature

Warm toes finally!
Nice pad to keep m feet warm-cord is short and concern about not meeting electrical standards but will make sure device is unplugged when not in use

This thing is toasty!
After reading the reviews comlaining about the short cords, I still took a chance on the unit hoping that I could take it apart and splice some new cords to it.Did just that, rewired it with two 4 ft cords and it now if perfect! A setting on "5" keeps my feet warm right through my shows. Love the timer feature, turn it on, set it 8 hours when I get to work. Hope it lasts as this is really a nice toasty foot warmer. Had a Toasty Toes Ergonomic Heated Footrest and the thing was not warm enough to penetare shoes even on it's highest setting

Warm foot left cold by poor controller location
This isn’t a bad product. It gets warm and keeps the feet toasty. The problem is the location of the controller. I have to leave it on the floor under my desk since the cord isn’t long enough for it to sit on top of it.

Get one, but you probably don't need the large size.
I am not kidding when I say that I keep telling my housemate that this is possibly the single best purchase I have made in years. You probably don't need the large size though. It sits on my old rug in my older house and keeps my feet warm which is --not gonna lie-- miracle-esque.

Illegal Device
This unit has no UL, UR, CE type certifications. It does not even define the power the unit uses to ensure you do not overload a circuit. Per a Fire Chief I spoke with, this unit is actually illegal to sell and use in the US (and also the European Union due to the lack of a CE cert). If this unit fails and causes a fire, your home insurance can disallow the claim. I have returned my unit rather than take the risk.

Exactly as advertised
My husband uses it on the tile floor by his recliner. No more cool air on the back of his legs! The timer feature is a plus. I did have to put a gripper pad underneath it because t slips on the tile floor.
