McGraw-Hill Education Top 50 Skills for a Top Score: SAT Math, Second Edition 2nd Edition

Very helpful

We really liked the Top 50 SAT Reading, Writing & Language book by McGraw-Hill, so we bought this book (Top 50 SAT Math .... by McGraw-Hill & Brian Hill). When first skimming through the book, it looks great --- well organized, thoughtful divisions on skills, good pre-test, good idea on the flash cards, etc. But, when starting to actually work through it, it becomes a disaster. This book--- the Math book --- has lots and lots and lots of errors in it (typos, misstatements, etc.) about on important things. SAT Mantra #29 ... n^3/4 = cube root of n^4 .... not moving a number or variable up to its superscript lots of times .... etc. Very frustrating and wastes time. It's absolutely irresponsible to sell this book to kids preparing for the SAT. We bought the electronic version and the hard copy version. They both have the same errors. The experience really frustrated our student. I expect a lot better from McGraw-Hill. They ought not sell the book and ought to do a recall.

I really liked the idea behind this book. Unfortunately there are a very large number of typos and incorrect items in this book. I cannot recommend this book for independent study.If you have someone else helping you who is knowledgeable about math then it is probably OK to use it as they can help correct the typos in the book as you go.If the author would publish a list of typos (I have my own list) then perhaps I could recommend it then. Better yet, write a new edition and fix all the typos, then I'd love to give this book a 5 star review. It has a lot of good ideas for helping an average or struggling student study for the SAT math section.

This book has so many errors that my son lost confidence in it. A person without strong math skills would be undermined and confused by these errors. I would not buy this book unless corrections are posted online. As of now, I cannot find errata anywhere on the internet.

it actually has so many errors and pisses me off. who made this..... they have such a stupid mistakes and the answers arent well-explained.

My 7th grade son found an error on problem 10 after about 30 minutes. Who edited this thing anyway?
