I very much like the unique taste. Very full and kind of velvety while being bold. My only warning is about the packaging. The jar is closed with a natural cork that is fitted flush with the rim. It leaks easily. The first jar sent to me leaked so much that the post office declined to deliver it. The second jar came by UPS. It, too, had leaked, but not so badly. It's the only downside.Tip for opening: After removing the wax seal, use the tip of a sharp pocket knife to lever up the cork at two or three places.

The product came very quickly. I watched a brief YouTube video on how to get the cork out and how to reseal it for easy reopening.I bought it to make a Cognac-mustard beef stew recipe that was highly rated in the NY Times food and recipe section. The recipe wasn't to my liking. In addition to the small amount of this mustard it called for, it was loaded down with nearly 3/4 of a jar of Dijon mustard (I used Grey Poupon). It was too strong...overpowering. Next time, I would cut down or even cut out the Dijon and use a little of this to get the mustard flavor.This is very strong mustard. You won't like it, if your idea of mustard is our mild-American-French's-every- day-mustard you get at the church picnic. You will like it, if you like tasting new things and coming up with creative ways to use it. I made a very nice honey mustard dressing with it. And I like it on certain strong flavored sausages. Also I'm planning to try some other cognac-beef recipes with this. "A little dab will do ya" and impart another layer of interesting flavor.I'm glad I bought it. I hope you like it!

Absolutely not worth the price. I read great reviews bit this isn’t superior to what you will find in local specialty shops for half the price.Don’t waste your money on this.

this mustard has a wonderful taste and depth of flavor that enhances any dish. The crock is beautiful and will have other uses when the mustard is gone.

I love to cook and love to get ideas of the Sorted Food channel. They used this mustard for a cream sauce and I couldn't wait to try it. I did not have any trouble with how it was packaged, the jar was very protected in its packaging, I used a butter knife to remove the wax covering and easily slid the cork out. Such a rich gorgeous smell! I did make a mustard, blue cheese sauce that was heavenly! I even used it on a ham sandwich, I am not someone who uses mustard on sandwiches but this mustard is a game changer!

I add this to my old and vinegar salad dressings, meat marinades, and directly on my food. Great if you like mustard spicy, but not very hot.

I ordered this for a Christmas gift and it arrived with stickers on the paper label and on the side. This was a very expensive jar of mustard and I wasn’t willing to give this as a gift looking like that. Very disappointed.

I read other reviews about packaging and leakage but decided to take my chances. Yep, the mustard leaked, thin liquid that destroyed the label on back of jar. I haven't opened the jar. I think the mustard will be ok, vinegar preserves. If I was shipping this I would place a small piece of cardboard over top then tightly plastic wrap the lid down. Will update after tasting.
