Inner Beauty Hot Sauce

This is one hot sauce I don't ever want to run out of. It is that good. The slightly sweet and tangy taste with that perfect hit of heat makes it one of our favorites. I use it on shrimp instead of jerk seasoning and it absolutely perfection! It's a nice sized bottle and a good value for the price. It's so versatile that I find myself reaching for it again and again.

I had used Inner Beauty for years and then suddenly it could not be found. I became aware of a very similar sauce called Rasta Fire Hot, Hot, Hot Sauce, which also uses mustard and fruit juices and is excellent. Then when searching online, I found that Inner Beauty was being made by a company in Maine, which seemed a surprising place to find hot sauce being mad, but it's fine with me. Inner Beauty is better as the flavors are brighter and more lively and there is just a bit more heat. It's also a bit more expensive but worth it.

I have benn using Inner Beauty since the 90's. The current version is really, really good. It's hot, but not stupid-hot, and has a taste that is delicious. It's the best.

This was a popular sauce many years ago and the original manufacturers stopped making it. It originally came from Chris Schlesinger's East Coast Grill and I believe they sold a version made by them. It disappeared for a few years and came back from a different distributer, a bit less hot but still tasty. I believe this is the third iteration and each time it has changed just a bit. However the same mustardy, citrusy taste with mango sweetness and scotch bonnet heat is still present. This is not nearly as hot as the original but is just as tasty and I would think it appeals to a wider audience without the previous blistering heat. I don't know how the heat varies between batches as all peppers have a good bit of variation in the level of heat.

When I first ordered this sauce, the glass bottle arrived broken, having been packaged in a small box with only a thin layer of bubble wrap. The seller was kind enough to send me another bottle... The second bottle was thankfully not broken, but the cap was nearly all the way unscrewed! It barely took a slight movement to take it off, and there was no seal underneath, so that was a near miss. At least I got to try the sauce this time (the flavor is very nice, mustard-based, better described by other reviewers) but please take more care with how you package and ship your products.

This is my second bottle of Inner Beauty. The first bottle came to me via Secret Santa at work and we went through it pretty quickly.If you fancy a tropical mustard hot sauce this is your buy. It tastes great on chicken, fish, beef, sausage and eggs. This stuff adds so much flavor and is actually saving me money because I can make a sandwich with two pieces of bread, one slice of cheese, deli turkey or deli ham and some Inner Beauty.Now I'm not the type of guy that adds sauces to steak but I gave it a shot and this stuff was excellent with steak. If your wondering I used Montreal Steak seasoning and grilled the meat.If you pour a little heavy handed the heat can build up pretty quick but it's not going to ruin your taste buds if you go too far.10/10 Will buy another bottle.

Among the best hot sauces on the market, Inner Beauty has become difficult to find and appears to be out of production currently.

My favorite hot sauce and it’s baaack!! First met up with this hot sauce in a tny, very full hot sauce shop in Portland, Maine. Fell in love!! When I went back it was gone and “ no longer in production”!!! Later I found out the creator had discontinued making it but I found he’d posted the recipe online. I made a batch of my own and packaged it in small amounts to out in the freezer. Then on my way into Miquels Mexican Restsurant there was a bottle of Inner Beauty Hot Sauce for sale!Turns out a local Maine newsman has awakened the Beauty and she is now available in restaurants, shops and Amazon!!
