I have now started shaving with a cutthroat and still getting skin sore. Instead of using page 1 to 4 of the newspaper just wet the alum block and rub along your skin. It does sting slightly but it stops any bleeding and takes down the redness. Spot on

If you find yourself getting an occasional nick when you shave then this Allum block will help stem the bleeding. It does.come with the downside of nipping like an absolute nippy thing, but this is a price worth paying.

I bought this on September 8th 2023 and it's only halfway done, i shave my head once a week and use this every single time.

Will last for a very long time!

Sure you can get these blocks cheaper somewhere else but this turned up 2 days later, almost, and it is a nice chunky block that won't shrink away to nothing in a couple of weeks. A neat little pack means it's really pretty good value for money.

I can't believe I've only discovered alum blocks now! After over 20 years shaving I find alum blocks when rubbed across my face stop bleeding from any little nicks or cuts instantly. This should be in the arsenal of every wet shaver be they using cartridge razors or DE safety razors. I only stumbled across these in my research about moving to DE safety razors from my current Aldi Calibre 6 which was the best cartridge based razor I had found to date.

I accidentally cut myself shaving on Saturday night, So I pulled out my Styptic block ran a little bit of hot water over one corner and rubbed it on my face and just like that my cuts were healed…Thanks to Bluebeards Revenge.
