Everything works ok. It's a little overall small which can make placing the working arms hard to place properly, but I can manage to work it out. The light is fairly hard to place with the given little space. Overall I'm ok with the purchase but know this is NOT a super high quality workstation with ample space to work on. I'll be fine with this one & will make it work. That all said, I did NOT want to spend a lot on one either. Especially without knowing if it was high quality or not. So if you're looking to spend $100 on high quality this is NOT your choice imo. I paid just under $60 for this. Fur the price it's good.

Heavy base with strong magnetic arms. The light has a good magnifying lens and decent light for easy viewing of projects. Great tool for soldering wires. I have bought many similar products in the past and been disappointed, this one seems like it will last for many years to come.

Love the magnets and adjustibility. Super helpful for quick soldering.

I have used the type that have been around for years and muddled through. This one is fantastic. I'm getting older and the addition of the light is fantastic. Great buy, great job.

For so long I've been using the Harbor Freight special helping hands, 2 clips and a small magnifying glass. Yes, it did the job for simple light soldering of wires or holding small parts and I did have to get creative when I had heavier items to try and hold and it didn't let me down. But now that I have this Doc Octopus version I feel like I'm going to be soldering with more confidence!! No more hurrying to solder before the part tips the Harbor Freight helping hands hands over or my clumsy self accidentally knocking it over.-- This base has a good amount of weight to it and I can't foresee it tipping over.-- The multi-position magnifying glass with the LED lights helps out a lot. it's like a mini selfie ring light.-- The magnet on the base of the arms are strong! I just wish they had maybe some felt or a thin rubbery type of bottom so when you place the arm on it would be a softer grab instead of the cheap black sticker.-- The arms are flexible and the rubber tips on the ends of the clips help keep the jaws of the clips from marring the surface of your object.-- The LED light just needs a USB power source. Not one of those awkward adapters that are cluttering up your already crowded power strip.-- The alligator clips lock in with some lock screws so that means if you needed to use another type of clamp on the arms you just need to make an adapter to slide into the slot of the arm and secure it with the provided lock screws.I'm definitely not a pro at soldering but this helping hands makes it a lot easier to get the job done. It will probably make you want to solder more than you ever thought you would want to. I'm also seeing a use for this when gluing small parts together with glue. Probably could even use this to hold small figures/parts to paint although maybe the clips are a little too strong.I'll update if I see things start to fall apart but so far everything seems like it's going to work for years.

Wife uses it to hold miniatures to glue and paint. She loves it. And says it makes the frustrating part go away.

Love it use magnifying more then anything

I use this to hold onto and see PCBs that I am soldering. Works really well, made out of quality parts, and the light is such an amazing touch. Perfect

This has strong magnets and hold your circuit boards and in my case, light R/C electronics, properly. The four clip magnets work as expected and the LED light is a nice addition. I use it for small electronics and it has made my soldering work much easier than the usual bracket holder that has been around for decades. This is great. Highly recommended for remote control pilots and those whose hobbies include small electronics.

Very strong magnets. The base is heavy enough that small projects won't topple over. The magnifier/light is great as it adjusts brightness and temperature. The only issue I have is the clamps could be better quality to match the quality of the rest.

This is a sturdy tool with a strong metal base and powerful magnets holding the clamping arms and magnifier to the base. I like that you have a choice of three lamp-light colour temperatures to choose from.

Quite expensive for what it is.The loupe is useless. I have to close an eye. Better without the loupe but ok for the light.
