Viva Doria Italian Black Truffle Sea Salt, Fine Grain (4.5 oz glass jar)

I bought this to use in preparing home-made potato chips. This product *smells* great, but the mild truffle flavor is buried in the taste of salt. To taste the truffle, you need to over-salt the food. I use quality, *real* truffle oil and am happy with that, but this black truffle salt does not deliver the flavor I am after.

I never knew I could appreciate salt. I had never used truffle salt before, but I’m finding that I really like it. When I made this purchase, I thought I’d only use it occasionally but I liked the subtle flavor so much that I’m using it almost daily.

Only okay. I've purchased two other brands in the past that were great. I want to see if this less expensive version would pass muster. It doesn't. Sorry.

Unfortunately I cannot say anything good about this salt. I really wanted to like it as I LOVE anything truffle and have been trying for many, many months to find the perfect truffle salt (without going bankrupt for 4 oz of it!). This is not it. While the price is good, the quality is just not there. It smells a little bit of truffle and there are pieces in it, but the flavor just does not come through. The salt seems old, too, which probably contributes to the lack of potency. I will keep looking...

Salt is larger grain than expected. Not much truffle flavor.

I use this salt primarily for popcorn. It's soooooo good. But you only need a few pinches to get the flavor throughout. This jar will last me a very long time.
