Cloud service expires then won’t let you watch from SD card
The camera is great easy to install, understand and hook up to wifi. However after a week or two your access to the cloud expires and you either have to subscribe or try to access the as card. This is where the problems come in because the camera seemingly won’t let you access the footage, even if you remove the sd card. I suspect this is to get you to sign up to the subscription service but maybe I am being cynical…..

Good camera. Poor customer service.
I'm very happy with the camera. I tried the free trial using the cloud, very good.Decided I only needed the smart card recording capacity.Contacted ezviz asking which card I should buy.£ months later, still awaiting a reply.

Forget using it with Alexa
The cameras and the image quality are great using the app BUT I also have to say is not the easiest to use even for a geek like me. The biggest gripe is that its marketed as compatible with Alexa and that is true, if you accept up to 60 to 120 seconds delay between real time and when the Echo show actually has it on screen. On of the worst tests took nearly 2 minutes to update with buffering in between.I tested by moving in front of the camera, on the app it was about a 1 second delay. I could almost go and make a cup of tea and drink it before the image of me moving showed on the Echo Show 8. Very poor performance and is not made obvious in the marketing. I am very unhappy with it on that basis as it was bought specifically for use with Alexa. I could have bought a cheaper non compatible with similar video quality if all I wanted was a phone APP camera. Ask it to view the front door and by the time it does, the visitor has gone or died on the pavement of old age. I wanted to give this a better review but the exceptionally poor video latency performance has totally let it down for me. Its also not my internet speed as I have a wifi system with up to 100mb/s download and 10mb/sec upload so there is no issue there. The Echo Show is the latest generation too. Its the delay in the cloud and through the Alexa Skill/Echo that lets it all down. Amazon, this is not good enough! Either sort out the latency or stop the lies that its compatible when it clearly is not. It shows on the echo when asked for yes, but as to being actually usuable and useful..... it is not. I am still debating whether to return the cameras and buy non compatibles as these are useless for the purpose they were bought for. I expected better when buying a "compatible". Lesson learned there so be advised folks. Oh, there I go across the Echo screen.......thing is I did that when walking to the laptop to start writing this review.

Not fully integrated with Amazon Alexa
Easy set up and excellent images. Motion detection sensitivity is a difficult compromise. Set off by moths and even rain at night even at low sensitivity. But reducing it to 1 risks missing human motion. My biggest complaint is that, even though you can link to Alexa so that you can view live images on an Echo Show, the camera is not recognized by Alexa Routines - which means it is impossible to make the camera's motion detection trigger live viewing on the Echo Show. With a great deal of messing using IFTTT and other apps I managed to get something working after a fashion but it is useless because IFTTT only polls every 15 minutes so the notification is delayed so much as to make it useless. EZVIZ support is quick to respond but I didn't find them any help.

Not what it is described as being
All the images and description make this camera out to be easy to install with wifi access. The reality is that it comes with a huge double cable of power and ethernet on the back with nowhere for the ethernet cable to go if you choose to use wifi connection, also the power is old fashioned 12v round socket connector instead of the more up to date 5v micro usb.It would require a 25mm hole in my door to fit this whereas my current Arlo camera uses an 8mm hole which is just enough to pass a micro usb plug through. The camera is also very large, double the size of the Arlo camera it was replacing so not easily able to blend in against the white pvc door where it would be situated.Returning the two I bought because there was no way I was cutting an inch wide hole in my door frame. The images should clearly show the big ugly double sized cable coming out of the back.
