What I needed, as a home "DIY quasi-luthier"
I should have taken the plunge sooner. These worked great, are easy and handy to use, like most Music Nomad products.Someone else reviewed and complained that there is no organizational container with the 6 piece set. That is not true, as the set I ordered came with a case -- the case allowed 6 files to sort of swim around inside it freely, but it definitely fit all 6 files and had room for more.People should check the file set sizings relative to their preferred string set gauges before buying. The set does not come with a file appropriate to 8 or 9 gauge strings, according to the MN recommendations of file sizings to string gauges. 36 was a missing sizing in the set, for me.

the best!
I've tried a lot of files - these are hands down the best ones on the market. Minimal effort and maximum results!

Good Ergonomic Design
I have two of these nut files now. They are much better ergonomically speaking than the simple blade type files I have. When making very fine, accurate cuts on guitar nuts, that is very important. The final assessment will be how this files hold up over time. Will they still cut a year or two from now.

Great product
A must have for doing nut work on a guitar. Much better than the cheapy chinese files that come in little sets. If you don't want to shell out for a full set of files get the smallest one, it can be used on larger slots (but not vice versa). Gentle filing of nut slot can eliminate the weird sitar sound that can sometimes develop. Overall great product and should last a long time.

Works as described, but expensive for such a limited use tool.
This worked as described and fixed a 0.010 nut issue I had. I'm grateful for that. My only complaint is how expensive it is. But then again, you get what you pay for. If I have to buy another gauge, I might consider buying an entire kit.

Worth the price
Being a beginner/intermediate uke player, my uke collection grows every year as I explore different tunings, sizes, and brands. Unless you hit the uke jackpot, most new ukes require setup to adjust the action of the strings to suit the player, otherwise the uke can be frustrating to play, especially at the lower frets. My preference is to set the string height, in freedom units, between 5/64 to 6/64” at the 12th fret and between 2.5/64” to 3.5/64” at the first fret, making the uke comfortable to play without risk of buzzing. There are many good videos on YouTube that provide guidance on how to lower the action of the strings so don’t be afraid to tackle this job. In the event of an epic failure … replacement nuts are cheap and you've chocked up yet another learning experience in life. Anyways, if you find the action at the 1st fret still too high after sanding the saddle to dial in the height at the 12th fret, the next step is to carefully file the slots in the nut at a slight angle down towards the headstock, taking frequent measurements with a string height gauge. For this task I recommend MusicNomad’s diamond coated files. Sure, there are cheaper options available but nothing is more frustrating than buying cheap low-quality tools that make the task at hand more arduous than necessary. I bought three MusicNomad files (0.024”, 0.028”, and 0.036”) and these were sufficient to file the nut slots on my concert and tenor ukes. The diamond coating makes it really easy to cut through bone fret nuts. If necessary, the file can easily be removed from the yellow plastic handle by flicking off the handle’s end cap and sliding the file out of the handle. And yes, the file’s size is laser-etched on the file so you always know what size it is. In the end, it takes me about a 1/2 hour to file the four slots in a bone uke nut, with most of that time spent measuring string height, tuning the uke, playing tunes to test the action, and of course, enjoying a good beer. Kudos to MusicNomad for their quality products!

Great for me. EADG ->DGCF
These worked great for me. I only really had to shave a bit on my "G string". Good quality.I also have Music Nomad's action string height and fretboard action stuff. 💯

Really like these files.
These are much easier to use and control than traditonal straight nut files. I have purchased three sizes so far and will complete the set in future.

The best nut file
Super expensive that why is not 5 star. Also some files come faulty but if you get a new one. These are the best for nut filing.
