Q: Will the polylock version work with acoustic guitars as well as electric? Trying to find a comfy strap for my elderly dad. Thanks!

I also have an acoustic guitar and on mine the mounting pins for a strap are much larger in diameter compared to my electric, so the strap will not work. I do not know if they are standardized.

As long as your guitar accepts standard straps this should work.

Q: Will it work on a rickenbacker 4003 bass?

I pulled up a picture of a 4003 and looks like this strap will work great for you. Looks like plenty of room with the Rickenbacker strap buttons for this to fit well.
