Last week, my neighbor brought me Delsym Cough & Sort Throat formula, thinking it'd help me through a sinus infection. Its awful!I took a dose: It made me gag: If I'd I been near a sink, I'd have spat it out. Flavor is bitter, acrid and caustic, not even masked by the sugary syrup. Mouthfeel is painfully harsh and astringent/puckery. I already had a sore throat; this syrup made it much worse--it burned my throat and stomach for hours afterward, while leaving my mouth and palate numb. This formulation worsened the throat irritation and it triggered a bout of coughing because it stung going down my throat.About 10 years ago, my doc recommended Delsym & It was terrific. It still is, and I'd still recommend it. Just be sure you get the plain cough syrup. The sore throat formula is pharmaceutical overkill. I pity the animals it was tested on--they can't express how much this goop hurts and how nasty & noxious it tastes.
