good read, philosophically challenging
Interesting book, with new angles on important artists and works. Connects to the discussion in art- criticism, environmentalism and contemporary philosophy in a useful and nuanced way.

On the rich eco-art track
On the right track... less polemical more relevant than other books on this subject

Very poor Kindle edition - most images unavailable
It's not okay to market a Kindle edition of an art book, at a fairly high price, in which most of the images are unavailable! This makes the edition pretty useless.

A decent read
This book contains some critical thinking but lots of fluff and philosophy revolving around earth artists and their work. Examples included are in black and white, and I used the computer to see them in full color otherwise they don't have much impact. Overall this book is actually quite interesting and a good read for those who are interested in art and earth art. This book is one of the few that I was forced to purchase for school and actually ended up reading the entire thing. It's neat to know the ideas and philosophy behind the art work (and I also think the enthusiasm of our professor towards it helped). But the book is best supplemented with an internet connection and access to color images otherwise the examples don't have the same understanding and impact.
