Great feel zipper is great and the pillow it comes with is great

With so many junky knock offs, it’s always a risk when trying to get a match for the original “woobie”.This is by far the best version, perhaps some will prefer the old just because of nostalgia but this is better in every way. The head hole alone makes this worth the purchase as you actually have a poncho liner now. The material is a little different, more “shiney” maybe but that is because of the DWR that will be very welcome when needed. The zipper is good quality and like the head hole, adds a very welcome addition to the original.The included pillow is thin but better than nothing, I’ll use it for sure and it doesn’t take up much room once it is rolled up into the blanket.Worth noting, this also comes with a stuff sack that I was unaware of and I ordered one for it that I’ll be sending back now, another bonus.In summary, it’s not the original woobie, it’s an improved version with useful features that is well made and a great value. Absolutely love this thing ! Has more weight than the other liners I have. The big selling point for me was the opening for the head. I've used it a few times in tandem with an actual poncho night fishing in wet weather, kept me nice n toasty. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I'm a bigger guy and the sleeping bag mode is just too narrow for me, would like to see either 2 zippers (1 on each side) to enclose the sides, or snaps instead for custom closure.

I ordered this to replace my former RBS ranger blanket that I had traded away to a South African in the Royal Army. While I was looking to get a version without zippers and head hole, I am glad that I got this one in the end. I brought it out on a single-night winter exercise with my unit, and it proved its worth in the face of freezing rain and temperatures below 0 celcius. This RBS ranger blanket kept me dry in poncho form, kept my friend warm overnight as a blanket, and survived with no noticeable damage.Overall: Put through a single night military ex during the Canadian winter and passed with flying colours. Best purchase from Amazon ever! It’s in our camp kit whenever we go camping and it stays in the living room the rest of the time. We use it daily. Love the neck zipper and that it fits a poncho perfectly. The zippers are great too, no need for a separate sleeping bag in summer! I’d recommend

You can lace the tie down points of my green Dragoon woobie through the toggles on my black helicon tex swagman roll as shown and then push the helicon tex swagman roll’s toggle through the grommets at the four corners of my blackUSGI poncho. My green Dragoon woobie also has four more tie down points so you can lace into all eight of the USGI poncho grommets to keep all the layers flat to each other.If you have flipped the layers into the correct orientation the head hole zipper should be on the inside and you should be able to zip the dragoon woobie closed like a sleeping bag, and all the other layers will follow because the laces are on the outside of the dragoon woobie.this creates a scalable two or three season sleep system you can adjust to suit the weather and wear when you move instead of stuffing it away.

I’ve owned woobies with zippers for 30 years or so. I’ve loved them. Best field item ever. I don’t leave home without one.This exceeds them all. Lots of upgrades. You can tell the designer was an ex infantryman.Thanks
