Hamilton Beach Stack & Snap 4-Cup Mini Food Processor & Vegetable Chopper, 250 Watts, for Slicing, Shredding, and Puree, Black (70510)

Quieter than my big expensive food processor, lighter weight. Easier to use. I use it more often than I do the heavier bigger fancy food processor I have. This one is easy to clean, doesn't take up much room, is large enough for most tasks like chopping nuts, grinding oatmeal, chopping herbs or veggies or cheese.

It's pretty quiet and shreds a block of cheese in seconds, although 4 qts is a bit too small for a whole block of cheese. There are too many bumps & hard to clean area. I wish is was smoother on the insides. It has plenty of power. So far I've shredded potatoes and cheese. For the money, it's a good buy.

Functionally it's actually a 2 cup capacity. (4 would be impossible.) The photo shows 2 cups of chopped onion filling it. That disappountingly said, it CAN hold 2 cups of liquid without leaking all over the place. Jury still out, for me, as I'm coming from a smaller, simpler 2 cup Krups that has served alright for 30 years. Like the shredding ability and on/off/pulse options for mostly hands free operation once loaded.

The first time I used it, it broke. I was grating an onion and parts of the onion were still big. I stopped the machine and tried to open the top to get them out. That is where the problem started.1. There are too many parts.2. The clips that hold the lid to the bowl flop around, are in the way and unnecessary.3. The gasket is too tight (thick) and unnecessary. It makes the lid hard to get off.4. The most important element is a plastic "operation tab". It seats into a slot in the handle. This tab makes the machine operate.The tab broke off when I tried to take the lid off. Thus, I couldn’t figure out why the machine wouldn’t start again. As I mixed my meatloaf ingredients by hand I came across a square piece of plastic. That piece of plastic was the “operation tab”. It broke off the first time I used the machine. It broke off when I tried to remove the lid. It could have been deadly in meatloaf.I have a 30 year old Black and Decker Handy Shortcut mini food grater, slicer, chopper, blender that just gave up the ghost. This is not a good replacement.Please someone! Come up with a compact grater, slicer, chopper that is easy to operate and to clean.

I love this little machine. Hope it will last a long time. It is perfect for my needs and just the right size.

There's just one person in my household so this is the perfect size for me. But it is small. If you are cooking for more than one person you'll need a bigger food processor.

I'm not a fan of this mini food processor. The chute is so wide and there is such a large gap between the lid and the blade that the produce just falls in that space sideways and doesn't get shredded. I also hate storing it. My old mini-food processor, which I LOVED but after 25 years finally broke, enabled me to store all of the blades and everything side the bowl. This one will not close with the both the chopping blade and the shredding ring on top. It's very clumsy, top heavy, awkward to close, and overall a huge disappointment. I gave it two stars because I can still chop things, but having to store the slicing/shredding ring in a separate drawer from the actual chopper because the blade doesn't fit inside it to store is enough for me to be on Amazon now shopping for a replacement. I'm done with this thing falling over in my cabinet because it's top heavy and just odd. I also hate the waste from shredding carrots or anything because of the huge chute and gap between the top of the shredder and lid. It does not work right.

About 35 years ago I bought a huge Cuisinart food processor. I was so excited. I paid $300 for it at a time when that was about 25 percent of my monthly income. I used it for a few years and loved it. In one of my many moves it got packed away, and I have yet to unpack it. (I guess first I have to find it in my storage locker somewhere in order to unpack it.) All these years I have been reluctant to buy any kind of food processor because of the guilt I have felt over having that Cuisinart somewhere not being used. I had convinced myself that chopping vegetables and grating cheese by hand is a noble endeavor. After recently hand grating a pound and a half of longhorn cheese for some macaroni and cheese for a group, I decided it was time to bite the bullet. But really didn’t need anything big. Problem is, most of the small ones only chop. Had been looking for one that also shredded… And the fact that it slices is a bonus. Have been using this for a few months now, and it got through Thanksgiving like a champ and just now helped me through a large Christmas party. It’s true because of the size I have to do things in batches, but generally use it only for me so rarely will I have to do big jobs with it. I am so impressed with this little thing. It really works well! It seems to do most of the same stuff that my big Cuisinart did. Even better, it doesn’t leak at the bottom when you put liquid in it . And the blade is superior in that it has several levels so that it chops more than just the stuff at the bottom. The strong suction cups are a huge help. If this thing breaks tomorrow, I’ve more than gotten my money’s worth. And at this rate, I could buy about 10 of them for what that original Cuisinart cost. In fact, in today’s economy I could probably buy the equivalent of 30 of them and still come out ahead!
