Corn Silk Original Satin Face Powder 10G

I obtained Cornsilk pressed powder from a dollar store about 10 years ago. It had a blue compact and the powder was "light". I just recently ran out (lost it in my overflow makeup bag, forgot about it, refound it- delighted). I was alarmed that I could not find it anywhere and that the product is discontinued!!! I have used Clinique, Bare Minerals, standard drugstore brands ie. Covergirl, Almay. Cornsilk is the best powder I have ever tried. I L-O-V-E the way it makes my complexion look. My hair stylist said,"You have the most beautiful skin. Like a doll." (I swear I don't. Pigment problems and mild acne.) But I was wearing Cornsilk powder and my skin looked luminous. This translucent powder is made by the discontinued brand Cornsilk. The translucent shade does not quite have the same effect on my skin as the shade "light" did for me, but it is still better than all the other brands. I hardly ever go to a dollar store, but I will drop in now when I see them to look for this discontinued brand! Highly recommend (although I don't want to because I don't want the remaining compacts snatched up! ha.)

this version of corn silk powder is very, very slightly grainy, but it still beats the pants off any powder i've ever found in a drugstore. as long as i don't put it on right after i've applied lipstick or lip balm, there's no problem. otherwise, it's easy for it to get stuck to my lips. i would definitely buy this product again!!UPDATE: 12/06/13 okay...let me try this review again. after using this product for many months (i ordered several of them), i've decided that i won't buy this again. i can deal with the grainy aspect no problem. the dealbreaker is that this powder does not do anything to even out my uneven skin tone. i know it's translucent, but other versions i've gotten of supposedly this same powder were translucent, too, and they did even out my skin tone. this one ships from the UK (it got to florida really fast, too, so props on that), and i only got it because it was the ONLY corn silk pressed powder i could find anywhere on the web, but clearly it is not the same formula i used for many, many, many years. <sigh> i guess it's time to go through the hassles and expense of finding a new powder to fall in love with.UPDATE: 01/15/15 Shortly after my first update, I gave away all my unused compacts of this awful powder and managed to find a fantastic new powder that I like even better than I liked the good, non-grainy version of Cornsilk. I am now in love with Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder. For my particular skin tone, the Silky Beige color most closely matches the transluscent Cornsilk.

This is the cheapest krap that is trying to pass for the Corn silk product of years ago. Don't be fooled...this is so abrasive and looks and feels like cornmeal on your skin. The plastic container is practically impossible to open - of the poorest cheapest quality and the Corn silk product itself just fell out of the container when I finally was able to pry it open.

I love Cornsilk products and the beautiful walnut fragrance that is used in this powder, don't think this is exactly like the original one I used twenty years ago but it's a decent powder. My compact's lid does not work, gets jammed and has trouble opening so I just have to leave it open all the time. Other than that I like my pressed powder compact. It works well on nornal to oily skin with a great natural looking finish, probably not recommended for dry skin because of the graininess of the powder.

Love this powder, and I'm so sorry it's long since been discontinued. Despite owning many other brands of powder, non compare well with the original Cornsilk for a natural finish. Still trying to find a replacement that is not too yellow, too pink, or too dark for my fair skin.This is my second Cornsilk order, and it arrived from the UK in only 9 days!

Excellent powder, made even better by the low cost. Similar to MAC's Blotting Powder but works even better on a make-up free face.

I really like this powder. It blends in to your skin color and makes it look smooth and flawless! It takes away any shine from your face and lasts a long time. It is also a great price! Love it!

First I can say I had no problems at all. No delays. Received it in good shape. Using it for a very long time but can't buy it in Holland any more, Amazon has a good price, even cheaper!
