Great Drivers Backrest for my Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager 1700
I love to go on long rides, and my back gets a bit tired after a while. I was looking for a sturdy backrest that was easy to install, put on, and take off. After an extensive search and research on the internet, I decided to give the Grasshopper Drivers Backrest a try.The company contacted me first after my order to find out what motorcycle and model I owned, and after I clarified this to them, the shipping time was fast.Installation is easy. You just need to remove two nuts from the driver's seat, attach the Backrest panel under the seat brackets, and then fasten the two nuts again. Because of the thickness of the Backrest flange, the nuts, which are nylock nuts, don't engage all the way, meaning the seat bolts will not protrude beyond the nuts, possibly not engaging with the nylon part. This is not a big thing since there are plenty of threads that engage with the bolts, and a drop of Locktite will ensure that the nuts stay in place in case anyone worries about them. When installing the Backrest bracket, you also need to push it as close as possible to the back of the seat before tightening the nuts. Otherwise, it will interfere with the motorcycle's seat-locking bracket.Having written all of this, the installation took me about 10 minutes or less. So, it's super easy as long as you follow the steps mentioned above. After the seat is back attached to the bike, you have to pry back the backseat cushion and slide the backrest into the receptacle you have attached to the seat.I took the bike for an hour ride afterward, and it was a game-changer. The support makes a big difference, and I can see myself riding long tours with little to no back pain.Taking it off is also super easy. Just slide it out of its bracket and put it into one of the paneers. Some reviews complained about the backrest being too loose and moving around. Mine is sturdy, with hardly any side-to-side movements. This was an excellent purchase for me.

37k miles without it, never knew what I was missing.
My friend sold his voyager for a Harley and asked me if I wanted his backrest, thought what the heck ill give it a try. I have a 107 mile round trip to work each day, this thing is a game changer. Yes I makes you sit more upright but better posture on the bike equated to longer rides and less soreness and fatigue. So I passed this on and bought a new one but at about the same price as it was going to be to get it repadded.I'm 6'5 340lbs, 16" windscreen and have the bars pushed up where it cuts off some turning on the bars/fairing. My head gets a little wind now so might need to move up to the 18" stock windscreen, so be it.It's pretty sturdy as I can lean into it and it doesn't bend into my wife, now it does move a bit but I'm also not trying to brake it off either. Padding is soft but yet it doesn't fall flat when leaning back, I see it as kinda like a pressure gage on how far and hard to lean on it. Super easy to install and super quick to pull off and back on for the passengers.

Great product for your voyager.
No dislikes. Easy install and works as designed. Perfect fit for my vulcan voyager 1700. It looks like it came with the bike not like a cheap imitation. Very pleased.

Very Nice
It sits high, I'm 6'-6", and would not want it any higher. It forces me to keep an arch in my lower back, which is what I need, and no more sore back. It's not a recliner, so don't expect to lean hard on it, but it gives plenty of support. So bottom line is I love it.

Easy to install and great investment.
I purchased the Grasshopper Limited Drivers Backrest for my Kawasaki 1700 Vulcan Voyager (2022). I wish I had purchased it when I purchased the bike. I put it on before my ride this last Saturday. Its easy to install (took 5 minutes), and it is removable when needed. Because of the support it provided, I had no back or shoulder pain that I usually get on long rides. Made the 300 plus mile ride very comfortable. I would absolutely recommend the Grasshopper Limited Drivers Backrest.

Like others, I leery of the price for such ...
I bought this backrest for my 2012 Kawasaki Voyager VN1700 ABS. I do long rides and my back suffers. I've been checking out backrests for years but none ever seemed to be right. (price wise). Like others, I was leery of the price for such an item but after reading some customer reviews about this backrest, I said, "what the heck, let's give it a shot." I am VERY, VERY PLEASED. The backrest was SUPER EASY TO INSTALL. It took 10 minutes from box to complete installation. It's easy to slide the backrest into and out of the support bracket. The support bracket is installed under the driver's seat and is attached using the two bolts that are used to attach the seat to the bike's frame. (the part of the frame that you always pinch your fingers on while re-attaching the seat). This backrest only adjusts up and down an inch or two. It DOES NOT tilt but it does have a little play in it if you lean back onto it while riding. I RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT BY GRASSHOPPER LIMITED. (that's not a cut or tear in the photo, it's glare from the flash)
