Surprisingly good
First, I like and trust this brand: I've had a soldering station from them for over a year and it's great, holding up well, use it a lot. This solder sucker works quite well. Much better than the older style with the rubber bulb. I added an inline power switch to the cord and mounted a soldering iron stand to my bench. So, this tool is always handy and ready to go. I use it more often than I expected. I still use a regular solder sucker and/or wick for some stuff, especially if regular soldering iron is already hot. This one does take a couple minutes to heat up, but it has plenty of heat (and thermal mass), so it works fine, even on heavy duty switch terminals for example.

Very helpful! Initial fume emission is not pleasant, but only temporary.
As others have mentioned, this iron does emit fumes for a little while when you heat it up for the first time, and they are not that pleasant. If you have a fume vacuum for solder fumes, it might be wise to places this iron near that vacuum for about 20 minutes while plugged in to allow the coating to burn off and be absorbed.Besides this, I have had a lot of success removing solder from several joints so far. I was able to replace a couple key switches on my keyboard with the help of this sucker. A video review from another customer shows them using it for this same purpose and it is really quick! I also recently replaced some bad relays on the control board for a burner on our stove. Because those relays are handling 240V at high currents, they have larger than average joints with silver solder on them. This iron was able to melt through the solder like butter and get them almost entirely clean! A little finessing was necessary to get the legs of the relays completely loose because of all the solder, but it was much better than trying to remove all that solder with a wick and regular iron.I probed the end of the sucker with a thermocouple and found it runs about 740 degrees Fahrenheit. The only thing I wish it had was a power switch either on the device or inline on the cord so it was not sitting on when you don't need it. Other than this, it has been awesome and I have no complaints!

Solid Desoldering Tool (But Don't Expect Miracles)
This YiHua desoldering iron is a pretty solid tool. It's super easy to use and heats up quickly, melting solder in a flash. The metal tip is a big improvement over those teflon ones that always seem to burn or melt. Plus, it's easy to clean and doesn't clog up easily. For it's current price point, it's a good middle-ground option between those cheap solder suckers and the pricier desoldering guns. Now, here's the thing: it works way better than those manual solder suckers, but it doesn't have the super-powerful suction I was hoping for. For components with two leads, it usually gets the solder out in one go. But sometimes it takes a few tries, even with through-hole contacts. With bigger components, like transistors or capacitors, you'll probably need to do several cycles of melting and sucking to get all the solder out. Holding it on the joint for longer helps melt the solder thoroughly, but be careful not to overheat the component.I didn't have any issues with the tip fitting over different sized leads, from tiny resistors to larger transistors and capacitors. It works best on two-lead components because the leads can move freely as the solder melts. With three-lead components, it's a bit trickier.Overall, this tool is definitely a step up from a basic solder sucker, but don't expect the same vaccum as one one a complete rework station. If you're looking for a decent, affordable desoldering tool, this one gets the job done, just be prepared to put in a bit of extra work on those stubborn joints.---Product: YiHua 929D-V Electric Desoldering Soldering Iron Solder Sucker Desoldering Pump with Shorter Charging Handle and Desoldering Nozzles 1.0mm 1.2mm for Through-Hole DesolderingASIN: B094ZCRXMN

Works better than expected, once you learn how to use it
This is basically a marriage of a soldering iron and a desoldering pump. Once you figure out how to maintain control of the tip when you press the release, it does a pretty good job of removing solder from plated through holes. It's a lot cheaper than a desoldering station with a built-in vacuum pump, too.

Easy to Use and Works Well
Bought this because I needed to desolder a chip from an old classic NES game and soldering wick wasn't going to get the job done. This tool made the job painless and was incredibly easy to use.

Its amazing, it saves time, makes the job look professional.
This was a time saver of a device!I am pretty good with soldering electronics "larger" i guess, like RC cars, and real car electronics, fixing vacuums etc. I have never really replaced any chips on a board or what not, but I was challenged with replacing the thumb stick sensors for my SCUF Reflex FPS Controller.I quickly learned that my soldering station was not the best suit for this and found this perfect device! - it heats the solder up to a working point and then you plunge it away to remove the old components. Then, when you are installing the new ones, you use your regular iron to get it started, and this cleans it all up!It does take a few tries to get the hang of it and actually wait for a proper warm up. and I would advise to let it run and warm up for like 20mins, as there is some burn off from the factory. (they do advise you several times about this smoke burn off with tags, etc.)I am now confident that I can repair even more electronics now that I have this tool!

Reliable and Easy to Use, But Needs Better Controls
Works great—simple to use and very dependable. However, the lack of temperature and power control is a concern. It starts heating the moment it’s plugged in, which can be risky. It would also be more versatile if the tip had interchangeable shapes for soldering use. Overall, a good product, but there’s definitely room for improvement.
