I typically read reviews before making purchases, especially when purchasing from a company I am not familiar with. I'm glad I didn't in this case because I may have decided not to. Seeing words like "cheap" and "thin enough to see through" are concerning. The reality is those reviewers probably didn't pay much attention to the product description, especially the parts that say "lightweight" or "fine thin knitted fabric." There's nothing wrong with the vest at all. Thin and lightweight but not transparent. It fits as I believe it is intended, "loosely fitted," and the color is as advertised. This is the kind of item you may wear in 60-70 degree weather. If you're looking for a puffer vest as your outdoor coat, then yes, you're going to be disappointed.

We purchased this sweater vest (red) for our son. He is 6', about 135-140 lbs. He wears a 14 1/2 - 15 neck-size button-up shirt. The sweater vest looks very nice on him. In fact, he likes it so much that he wears it every time he wears his white button-up shirt. (He is ignoring his other sweaters in his closet currently.)The fabric is very soft. And, being lightweight, he doesn't get too hot. We live in a cold climate during the winter months, and he has not been cold wearing the sweater. It is not too thin and not too thick.He has gotten so many compliments on how nice he looks, that his other family members want to buy the same sweater vest for themselves. It really is a classy-looking vest with a really great fit.

When they describe it as light, they're spot on; Cozy not so much. It's very light and stylish, but if you're looking for warmth, you'll need something heavier or a more substantial material, like wool. But if you want to wear this sweater as a fashion statement, it'll work without overheating you in an office environment. Also, I thought the shawl collar would be a nice look, but getting it to fold over an lay right is kind of a pain. I should have gotten a regular collar, or rather - no collar. This is a great fashion sweater if you're just looking for a "look" with minimal warmth.

Quite disappointed. I'm 6'1", 190 pounds, chest 41", waist 37". L should be my size according to the sizing chart, but it's definitely not. Not slim fit at all. Too baggy and too long.The fabric is really thin.I'm not using it and as I live in Uruguay returning it is really not worth it.

I'm a pretty average sized guy - 5'11, 185 and usually wear a 40 regular suit for comparison purposes. I ordered a large for this product, because that's what I usually wear in sweaters, but should have ordered a medium. The large was a bit too long and loose for a vest I intended to wear under a sport coat. No fault to the seller. However, I was disappointed with the thinness of the fabric. The buttons are nice - big and a nice faux wood finish - but the fabric feels cheap to me. I will probably return this item.

At first i thought this sweater was a bit too thin but when i wore it for 7 hours straight it was pretty cozy. It wont keep you totally warm but it will keep you at a nice temperature so you don't sweat or feel uncomfortable. It looks great with a dress shirt or more casual with a shirt underneath. It's very versatile and i plan to buy another one. I wore the grey one with a white t shirt underneath, black pants, chambray slip ons and a paperboy hat and recieved so many compliments. I highly recommend it!

I'm a tall woman of average build (5'11") and I ordered this vest in a size small per the measurements in the product listing. It's a bit of a roomy fit so I'm only giving it 4 stars, but the color is good and it's fine knit so drapes nicely over blouses. Probably not thick enough to consider it as a warming layer.

This may not be top-of-the-line quality type sweater for everyday durability wear. But for this price, I think it is a pretty fair deal. Fits great. May not last forever, but I think it has a great appealing look. It is not a thick material, but I do not like heavy feel anyway, so this is great.

Original description said "thermal" which it definitely was not! I did contact the company and I notice they changed the description to what it actually is...a lightweight vest. I had to return it as it was not what I wanted but the vest is actually very nice. Soft,well tailored, and fashionable, I am sure it would be wonderful business attire. And I can't say enough about DC Trades customer service. Exceptional! Fast, friendly and honest.
