I bought 4. 2 were hollow 2 were solid. The hollow ones though are still very sturdy. I have 2 pretty hard chewers and these bones were great. They do have a bit of a smell but leave no marks on the carpets.

Q: Are these safe for puppies?

I would suggest watching the puppy closely while they are chewing on it. It is a very hard bone and if the puppy chews on it aggressively they could break a tooth. Also limit the amount of time they chew on it to 10-15 minutes

Q: Do these hold up as well as deer antlers? We have a strong chewer, always looking for chews that will last a while.

Our golden pup destroys everything & chews the elk antler’s up quite quickly…& she broke 1 of her permanent back teeth out. IMO these hold up just as long & are not as hard on her teeth.

Q: What is the average measurements of the small size horn?

The size will vary from horn to horn based on the diameter, the thickness of the horn and how curved it is. They try to cut them to a length so they have a average weight of 1/4 lb. That being said they will proabably be about 4 to 5 inches from point straight across to base.
