Pop Genius
If there's any justice in the universe, somewhere there's a planet where Terry Hall is worshipped as the god of music. There isn't a single song on this album that doesn't just crackle. Apparently, "Forever J" and "Sense" were the two songs that were released as singles from this album. I don't understand how they failed to be massive hits, as both are just about as perfect as pop songs get. If pressed to pick favorites, I think I'd go with "Sense", which just soars; "I Drew a Lemon" which is a boppy tune with trademark Hall lyrical turns ( like "I drew a lemon/I punched that gift horse in the mouth/I won't get to heaven/If heaven's north then I'll choose south.") and "No, No, No", another song that could've easily been a single. Hall had solid support on this album, with the Smiths' Craig Gannon, the Lightning Seeds' Ian Broudie and Chris Sharrock, and Echo and the Bunnymen's Les Pattinson all contributing instrumentally and, in the case of Gannon and Broudie, songwriting credit. XTC's Andy Partridge and Blur's Damon Albarn also get composing credits. This is a gorgeous album well deserving of your attention.

Perfect pop.
I know it's not a nice thing these days to say that an album is "perfect pop", but this is truly one of those albums that after a few listens will draw you in. I never heard any of Terry Hall's previous work before hearing the "Forever J" single when looking for Ian Broudie productions, and I was pleasantly surprised. Surprised enough that I picked up the album and was stunned by it's sheer beauty.I can't say enough about it. Terry's voice, layered over top of jangling guitars and swirling synths... heaven. If you like the Lightning Seeds, you will love this.

Keeps getting better.......
It just keeps getting better and better. I loved Terry Hall when he was in The Specials and Fun Boy Three. Now that he has his solo career, I love it as well. It proves that there is more to Terry Hall then meets the eye. 'Home' sounds different than the bands of his youth, with a pleasant melange of not so typical love songs. I recommend this album to everyone.
