these are so good for beginners. i am a beginner myself and it has been helpful to have different sized hooks for different projects

Perfect for my little beginner

I bought this mostly for the crochet hooks and other supplies, with the hope that the small yarn skeins would work for my usual projects. I usually use a yarn type like Red Heart 4-ply, and make cat toys. This yarn is 4-ply, but lighter weight. Works and makes the expected size toys if I use a larger size hook. Doing this and it is fine. The color choice is good for the yarn. The cats enjoy the toys.

I was very interested in starting to learn to crochet and didn't want to splurge too much so I thought this would be a great place to start and it sure was. The hooks and tools fit within the included box which is great and easy to bring with you on a road trip or such. The yarn isn't the best quality but it still works great to see if you want to try more types of yarn. I would say the yarn weight is about 3 or a light 4. In general, this was a great starter to my crochet journey!

I was really surprised. More like shocked, it was definitely not what I expected for the price. The yarn is thin and creativity is perceived limited because of this and amount provided. I would only purchase for a total newbie. It does not stimulate desire to jump right in.

I jump hobbies a lot so this is a fantastic bargain for someone who likes to learn things willy nilly. The fancy crochet needles are padded so that's cool and unexpected. All and all, I would buy this for anyone wanting to learn how to crochet. Probably not exciting for already established crochet hobbyist
