Where's the menage!?
Did I read the same book as the people giving rave reviews and 5 stars? This book had great potential, unfortunately the story line was way to drawn out, the characters lacked chemistry, too many "tragic things" happened to the main character there was only 1 menage scene and it didn't happen until the end of the book and the way the hospital situation ended was very anticlimactic! Sadly I will not be reading anything else by this author.

Boring and poorly written
Won’t be reading this author again, thank goodness the book was free. The story had loads of potential but just didn’t deliver. The writing was very amateurish even juvenile. People do not talk the way they do in this book; several times I thought the conversation between characters was so unbelievable I found myself rolling my eyes. We find out a lot about the main characters but they still didn’t feel very real. I certainly never felt any connection to Amber. Cade was the best of the lot. Stone? I liked Stone, too, but he seemed to always get the short end of the stick. He’s the one who seemed unneeded in this threesome. And if you read a disclaimer stating ‘explicit sexual content…double penetration, ménage… erotica’, you actually expect some. What little there was, was dull, boring and poorly written. If you like ménage à trois stories try Laney Reese’s Table For Three.

Characters lacked depth
I wanted to like this book, but there was just nothing about it that moved me. The plot was good, but the characters just didn't really gel for me.Stone was too nice, with little else (emotionally) to round out his character, and Cade's supposed 'dark' edge was barely noticeable. Also, you never really gained any understanding of why they were interested in sharing a woman. There was hardly any strife between them, and their feelings for Amber seemed rushed and forced.Amber was supposed to be completely new to the idea of having a polyamorous relationship, had a dysfunctional family, a failed marriage, and just lost her only close family member to a murderer, but had very little difficulty jumping into a relationship with two men. It seems like the author was trying to portray her as being strong and resilient, but she just came off as being too-little effected by anything. The love scenes were forgettable, and every negative thing that happened was quickly sort of glossed over like la-di-da and happily ever after.

Good mystery, menage relationship fell a bit flat.
This book had a lot of potential but the menage portion fell flat way too many times, as did the relationship between the three main characters. It didn't make sense that the guys left Amber time after time to deal with the trama's she would encounter. They came across as caring at first but then would just leave her. And they never seemed to find the time to be together as a threesome until the very end of the book. The book had potential with the dramatic filled murder mystery but this author needed to pump up the menage relationship and make these two guys a bit more considerate and thoughtful. When oncology nurse Amber Delacroix finds herself a suspect of the mercy killing of her own brother it's Stone Benson, the paramedic that brought him in, that she finds comfort from. This is just the beginning of her world turning upside down as the detective investigating the case is Stone's roommate Cade Carter. If that weren't enough, it turns out Stone and Cade often like to share their women, a lifestyle Amber has never before considered but is definitely intrigued by.As the murders increase, the men will have to work hard to prove Amber's innocence and to stop a mercy killer at the hospital so they can pursue the budding relationship with the woman they are both falling for.

Awful storyline
Hint: if you write a menage erotic thriller then the readers actually expect to see menage sex more than one time only for one page and then in the last 5% of the story. The two men spent the two months they were supposedly dating her seeing her once every two weeks SEPARATELY, and couldn't fit any time in with her or as a threesome because of their jobs. The reader is left wondering what the world of dating is coming to when an attractive sexy single nurse sits home alone while the two men she's performed like a trained seal for are too busy to call much less take her out more than once every two weeks, not to mention that despite working supposedly so much they can't send her a text, they are apparently too broke to send her perhaps some "thinking of you" flowers. Or an ecard. And when she is recovering from her third / fourth / fifth trauma they leave her at her place alone after a visit - because nothing says "we care" more than leaving a woman to take care of herself after a gunshot wound until she's been released by her doctor a week later to have sex. Then you find time to be with her.Sorry, this gets one of my coveted Worst Reads award. On the flip side at least the writer showed the two testosterone-lacking men asking a few "getting to know you" questions. Just like two besties chatting over Chinese. The female lead did spend lots of time with female friends and was good at her job.I spend money on writers I like. I honestly can't remember the story I last enjoyed by this writer which is why this sat in my tbr pile for so long, and it should have sat there longer. Again: 1 page whitewashed menage action last 10 pages of story, killer obvious at 58%, heroine has little expectations about her two men paying attention to her so she should be HEA until they find someone else.

A Fantastic Read!
Promises Of Mercy: Montana Promises Book OneVella DayMedical RomanceThe first book of the Montana Promises series, Promises Of Mercy is one smouldering hot book with two searing hot alpha males. The heroine, Amber Delacroix is the prime suspect in the death of her brother. Amber finds comfort in the arms of Stone Benson, the paramedic who treated her brother. When another patient is almost killed, Stone is convinced that Amber is innocent. As their relationship heats up, Stone admits to Amber that he shares his women with his room mate Cade, who happens to be the detective investigating the deaths at the hospital. From the first page, this book jumps right into the action and doesn't let up until “The End”. Vella Day pulls the reader right in and keeps them hooked with two very sexy men and the hunt for a killer. The love scenes are well written and possibly better enjoyed in private as there may very well be some blushing. For those who may not have read ménage romance, this would be a good book to start off with as it's good at explaining it and the relationship between the three characters is beautiful. There is exciting action and the constant niggling question of motive for the murders. This is a fantastic read.

Stone.. a gentleman
I'm giving this a 4* rating not a 5* because of the names of the places in the book.. Rock Hard (where they live) for instance! Nope, it didn't work for me sorry. Other than the place names plus Stone didn't get in there first when he had the chance Amber, neither did he have as much as what Cade had was a shame.. I preferred Stone to Cade. It's a good read, I'm sure others will enjoy it too.

a great start to a new series.
Stone and Cade, best friends who not only live together but also share their women. Amber's life is falling apart, people around her are dying unexpectedly. Can she solve the mystery?, will Stone and Cade help her before its too late? I loved the story, the relationship between the main characters and their friends, who have their own stories to tell. Hooked from the start, I will definitely be reading the rest if the books in this series.

True love
I have just spent A incredible evening, I just couldn't put my kindle down, I had to know if Amber cade and stone survived, there are many twists and turns in this book but you could actually feel the love that the three of them have jumping out of the pages, I have so much more to say I about this book but I stayed awake all night to finish it and now I think it's time to get some sleep. I would advise everyone to buy this book.
