These are very large book ends - higher than most books, but they don't stick out awkwardly. I initially bought them for my kids' books, but they worked so well, I bought more to use around the house. Large books, heavy books - they're all kept in place. And the design is not too girly - I feel like the flower pattern dissolves into whatever the surroundings are. I highly recommend this product.

Ok, these really are great! I put them around my cookbooks on top of my fridge and it really has kept them in place. The other ones always slid, or would begin to bend under the weight of the leaning books. These are awesome! Even if I take several books out they have not shifted or anything! And the plus is they do have the cute design!

I was looking for bookends to support all my food magazines which are tall. Most bookends are short and not sturdy enough. These are great and I am not lying when I say I must have them supporting 25 magazines and 6 cook books. And on my kitchen counter, they take up no space since they are flat. The cut outs give them a cute look too.

I just love these. They're high-quality (they'd better be for the price!) and it's rare to find an adequately heavy bookend that can hold up books that is this thin and pretty... It's also rare to be able to find thin, TALL bookends and this does a good job of being just that while being unobtrusive.

I bought these bookends to hold up a free standing group of 18 12x12 scrapbooks. They function perfectly and are tall enough to hold the weight of all the scrapbooks without moving. They are well made and sturdy. The design is elegant and creates a nice accent against the end scrapbooks.

Very attractive alternative to standard bookends, and the cutout does not make them any harder to use or any less sturdy than standard bookshelves. (I'm a professor, and use many bookends!)

These are beautiful pieces and quite sturdy. I needed them to hold up textbooks, and they perform the job excellently. I intended to order a couple more sets for other stacks of books that need shoring up.

These are beautiful. They hold the books very well. I bought two sets. I bought them to go with my  Myriad Shelf by Umbra . Even though the patterns don't match, you don't notice it.
