Very easy to use and it is very accurate. I never realized how important proper standing rigging tension was until I did my research.

I own a Hunter 45DS with a B&R rig which has no back stay. Whether your sailboat has a B&R rig or not, It is vital to have a tension gauge (tensiometer) in order to properly tension the standing rigging. This tool gives you the percentage breaking tension for multiple wire thickness. It is super easy to use. Most standing rigging supposed to be tensioned to around 15-20% of breakage limit and without a tension gauge it is impossible to get it right. I am amazed how few professional riggers (none that I have met in 20 years!) have tension gauges in their kits. They claim to be able to know tension by feel but the reality is that they are just guessing. It would be as if your car mechanic didn't use a torque wrench to properly tighten your wheel lug nuts. Would you trust your life to a guess?

This is for a Cal 40 with Dyform shrouds and forestay. I have friends with the same tool but for lighter wire, and they love it. Because I have Dyform rigging I need to do a slight adjustment to the standard wire calculation, but no big deal, and the adjustment chart is online. But since not that many boats use Dyform, you probably won't encounter that correction. Minor, but thought I'd mention it.Very useful for figuring out where you are with tension , re-testing rigging after things settle in, and then allowing you to test adjustments - x turns here and there for certain for conditions. I like it a lot. Nicely made. Glad I bought it.

Used to check spreader stay tension. Matched another person's exactly. Both could be off (which I don't believe) - but at least they are consistent.

I was installing cable railings where I had 11 cables in each run. I wanted to be sure that each cable had the same tension and this did just fine.Could be five stars but nothings perfect.Would buy it again but I don't think that would be necessary as i think this too will last a long time.

Must have to tune sailboat and I got the metric as it was on sale and once you convert the measurements and mark your normal settings it’s then just looking to see if on mark or needs to adjust.

Das Produkt sieht wirklich wertig aus und ist aus relativ dicken Metall gefertigt. Ich würde es jetzt endlich gerne einmal ausprobieren, allerdings schafft es Amazon nicht, trotz telefonischem Kontakt, einen kontrollierten Karton zu senden. Ich weiß nicht was schief gelaufen ist, ich vermute, dass vielleicht der Hersteller die falschen Verpackung für die falschen Geräte verwendet, jedenfalls ist in den Kartons jedes Mal nicht das bestellte Gerät, welches auf Millimeter basiert, sondern ein Gerät welches zöllige Werte ausweist. Wie das Gerät eigentlich aussehen müsste, findet sich auf der Verpackung (siehe Bilder).
