Q: I only want it to vibrate when my O2 level drops; I'm not interested in downloads/viewing. Will the device work without downloading the app?

It will vibrate and sound an alarm without the app on your phone. But I suggest using the app because it's the only way to access the settings on the device itself like threshold on when to vibrate and alarm. The app can show you the graph and also you can set the phone to alarm loud when the unit alarms.

Q: What type of charging cable does this use? I have misplaced mine and several attempts to purchase the correct one has me now collecting charging cable

Thanks for the warning. As I just bought one: The bag that it was in was labeled "540-00194-00 / Charging Cable / Micro-D". A search for it found: https://www.amazon.com/Micro-D-Software-Solution-Charging-Pulsebit/dp/B08NCJWCGD "Viatom" is the same company that manufactures the device (it's on the bottom of the box ... I don't know if they're a contract factory, or if Wellue is a subsidiary of the company)

Q: How loud is the alarm?

There isn't an audible alarm except through the app. (so your phone alarms). The device alarm is vibration, and there are 5 levels (or off) that you can set it to via the app.

Q: Does this device have to be in proximty to a bluetooth device while using it or can you plug it in to download the results?

It works independently while wearing/using it. Once you're done sleeping, you take it off your finger and have it close to your phone and it will download the data to the app on your phone.
