Not for Kids
Received this item today. The packaging says "keep out of reach of children", and for good reason because the edges are sharp. Compare this to the product description, "BEACAUSE YOUR CHILDS SAFETY MATTERS - Our Book stoppers are designed with babies, toddlers and children in mind, therefore they are LIGHTWEIGHT with smooth edges to minimize risk of injury should the child cause the item to fall from bookcase, shelf or cabinet"

Cute and sturdy
These are super cute and work fantastically on my kids bookshelf. I have all dark wood shelves and the white color stands out nicely. They are also pretty strong and hold up all my kids normal books and board books well without being TOO heavy that they can't move them if needed. The bookends are small, but that is what I was looking for! They are pretty adorable. They are currently helping keep 25+ books straight and neat on the bookshelves in my kids room.The packaging it came in was fine, but I was not thrilled that the two bookends were tied incredibly tight with a zip tie, so much so that you couldn't get anything under it to cut it. One of the bookends ended up getting a little scratched with my efforts to cut the dang zip tie off. I also didn't feel like a zip tie was warranted in keeping the bookends from moving around or scratching themselves up in transit.UPDATE: Customer service is awesome and is helping me rectify the situation.

Super cute and functional
I love owls, so when I was looking for bookends, these immediately grabbed my attention. Do they look like they belong in a kid's room? Probably. Do I care? Not in the least.These got to my house on time and in great condition. They were packed in a nice box and wrapped together in plastic. 2 bookends.These look exactly as pictured. Super cute owl on the front with a solid base to support it. They're not bulky in any way. Just a nice pop of color.It seems to be pretty sturdy. It holds my books and larger envelopes well. There aren't any sharp edges to mess up your books or fingers.

Not suitable for larger books.
These wouldn't hold up my daughters books. The books just toppled over after setting them up, every time. Maybe they need grippers on the bottom. Some of the books that we were trying to hold are large children's board books, which could be the reason these did not hold. They are fairly small, and I think they would hold smaller books and paperbacks well. I am going to try using them on my bookshelves, when i can just use one end and hopefully they will work for those purposes. I purchased the yellow and they are very cute.

Lighter than they look.
I was pretty disappointed when I pulled these out of the box. They look exactly like the pictures, which I loved, but they are very flimsy. I bought these to hold my sons books on his dresser and after putting the books between them, they just bent over and the books fell on the floor. I didn't want to buy heave bookend because he's almost the age he could reach up and pull them down. So, to use them, I have a stack of books between the bookends, and use a small stack of books on each side to "help" the bookends stay put.

Couldn't hold up a stack of children's books
They are cute but suck at holding children's books as they tend to be too tall and thin to weight it properly. All the books toppled off the shelf in our nursery (fortunately no one was sitting below it) and the owls bent.They might work for larger broader books or light weight ones but they certainly failed at being functional for a nursery book shelf. Attempted to return but missed the return window by a day...

Small
These are okay, but we've noticed that these type of flat designs via cutouts are not that great for bookends, as the designs on the books obfuscates the design of the bookends themselves. Also, these are very small, they work for paperbacks but I wouldn't use them for anything larger.

Perfect little bookends for baby
These bookends arrived faster than I expected, and they're exactly what I wanted. Very thin, so they take up no space on the child's little shelf, nice and light so they won't hurt her if they fall on her foot, and the edges and the enamel are very smooth. I'm very happy with this purchase. Thank you.
