Best backpack for school and for work
We had two Jack Wolfskin deluxe backpacks bought from Germany, which have been carried by our kids to schools for many years. We had bought other brands after they were worn out but none of them as comfortable as JW. Glad that I found this one with fair price. The new model seems a little smaller but has the same parts. It will be a gift to my husband for traveling and for work.

Best backpack ever! I am so happy with it. After doing a research and comparison of other popular brands, this was my choice and I don't regret it!

A superlative daypack…
This pack is billed as an “urban/travel” pack. And I can see it being an essential companion to many of today’s youth, since it is especially designed to carry a laptop, 10 to 15 inches, in a detachable padded compartment that fits inside the main compartment. There is also a secondary detachable padded compartment for carrying a tablet or other electronic gear. In addition, there is a second major compartment ideal for carrying an extra sweater/jacket. There are two other smaller compartments, designed to be readily accessible without undoing the straps that contain the two larger compartments. On the bottom of the pack is a special compartment that contains the yellow plastic rain protector. And there are two pockets, one on each side, for water bottles, or whatever.Construction of the pack is solid, solid, solid. The zippers are substantial, as are the pulls. The material is thick polyester, with heavy stitching. The padding for the back is also well-designed and thick. The straps are likewise padded and thick – designed not to dig into the shoulders or other body parts. What I found to be unusual were two additional straps, one for across the chest, the other for the waist, to pull the unit comfortably tight on the body, a feature far more common in camping backpacks meant to carry 60 lbs. As the Jack Wolfskin card that accompanies the daypack says: it is meant to “snuggle up” to the body.Marketing. Marketing. Marketing. Through the Vine Program I also received a “Tom Tom” fitness watch. I found it ideal for my various walks, measuring distance, time, et al., and then later being able to look at the route on the computer, imposed on aerial maps. But the watch is clearly “marketed” to youth, based on all the pictures in the ads. Yet there is a very real “old geezer” market, though we are now seem to be the “invisible man” for such products.Likewise, with the Jack Wolfskin daypack. It is unlikely I would carry my 15-inch backup laptop in it, preferring a brief case / satchel bag in a business setting. But I could definitely see myself using this for day hikes in a RURAL setting. A standard wine bottle fits in one water bottle pocket; the bear spray, or a water bottle in the other, with straps that will secure them. The bread, cheese and olives could be in one compartment, a video camera for all that wildlife, in the other, along with other the supportive electronic gear. And, of course, somewhere out there has to be the Thou, more often spelled Toi.Loved the review by “KT” posted on June 27, 2018, with the numerous pictures with descriptive overlays. It is a standard for a good review, and I felt it would be superfluous to add my own pictures. Thus, I felt my best contribution would be to emphasize both the rural usages, and the invisible “old geezer” market. As for the cost/benefit factor, at still under a 100 bucks, it is ideal. Overall, 5-stars, plus for the Jack Wolfskin daypack.
