New Light Through Old Windows - Best of Chris Rea

Have been a Chris Rea fan since the 80s. This cd is an excellent example of his wonderful style and moving vocals.

Excellent CD, great music.

Loved finding out that Chris Rea wrote "Windy City"! And first time i'd heard "ACE of Hearts"! love it! "Driving Home for Christmas" is a classic,not to mention "On The Beach" and "Josephine" ,a song about his daughter!I've heard that Chris is not well and I just want to Thank him for his indelible contribution to Music!

I say I have to agree with S. B. Rotherforth "smithville boy" on this as driving music in its purest form! When I first had the cassette single much earlier days THIS SONG was my TGIF song. Later I lost the tape and by pure coincidence I have stumbled on the complete Greatest Hits which I must say if you like pure rock music you will LOVE Chris Rea! Needless to say now I am a little older but it still has that certain appeal to it, that is why I purchased it today 12/12/2005.

Only knew of three Chris Rea songs before purchasing my two albums of his. Two of the songs "On The Beach" and "Driving Home For Christmas" cinched this for me-despite the fact that I wasn't cognizant of the latter till subsequent decades after this CD's release. Not for every taste, of course, but certainly not an abysmal listening experience:-)

Love it! Remember it from 20 years ago. Then i had a cassette for my car! Heard it on a movie and had to have it!

i highly recommend this c.d. of chris rea...all my favorite songs by him...especially "windy town" & "ace of hearts" & "i can hear your heartbeat"....there isn't a trivial song on this c.d.....his song writing & music is superb...

Love the song "Working It" but I haven't had a chance to listen to the whole CD yet. I am sure it will be great if the rest of it sounds as good as Working It.
